It was just before our workout class was starting. Everyone was putting down their mats and getting ready to work out. My wonderful sister (Bratus913) looked down and saw my 4-pound weights on the floor. She says, "Are those all the weights you brought?" I said yes. (Look, DH and I moved last year and I got a new job and I haven't exactly been keeping up with exercising, so I got a little out of shape and I'm slowly working my way up in the weights and stuff.) So she sprints to the instructor and rats me out..."Did you know that Wendy only brought 4-pound weights?" And then the instructor turns to me in front of the whole class and yells out, "YOU ONLY BROUGHT 4-POUND WEIGHTS?" Bratus913 is standing next to the instructor, grinning at me. Like an evil person.

So the whole class turns to look at me. Now I have to justify to the whole class why I'm out of shape.

FYI: Beware of Bratus913, people. She's a rat. She'll rat you out, even if you are her only sister.

You should have grabbed her by the hair, threw her to the ground and said something like "I dont need nothing more then 4 lbs of weights when I can lay a whoopin' on you like dat!!!!" :rotfl2:

Have to agree with this. It was time to bust out the can or "Whup A**" and show her who needs more weights and who doesn't. Heck, my brother is 6'4", im 5'2" and if he did something like that to me, calling me out infront of the class and instructor, it can be a sure bet he would be flat on the floor.

I just went back to exercise class and I can't believe how I can't lift anything. I am back at the small weights too. My right arm is killing me from shoveling snow, you would think I would have at least one strong arm-nope I have an overused right arm that hurts all the time.

No way, that chick scares me. :scared:

You could have dropped one on her foot and asked if it was heavy enough.

First, I think 'sprinted' is a little dramatic, don't you???? I was merely checking the attendance sheet and made a small harmless comment to the instructor. :rolleyes1

It is not MY fault if she expects more from one of her best students!!! puckerup:

And by the way, the move was over 6 months ago people!!! ;)

Um, are 4 lb. weights not enough? :rolleyes1 Because I've been using 2.5 lbs. at my classes since January and sometimes I have to put them down b/c they just get too heavy. . .

Oh well, at least I'm moving, right? :yay:

Absolutely!!! You've just started, and it does take time to ramp up, that's for sure! Hucifer, on the other hand, has been working out for YEARS!!! :ssst:

Oh, you are an evil woman. :guilty:

I have VERY bad eyesight. My sister used to take my glasses, put them on the Christmas tree and laugh while I try to find them.

But seriously, I think 4lbs are fine especially if you are just getting back in the swing of things. I work out everyday with a bodybuilder and we only do 1-2 body parts a day. If you are working your back, shoulders, traps, bi's and tri's in 1 class, i would imagine that your arm would be hanging by the next day and a half.
May I say that i am proud of you. The hardest part about working out is actually getting there. Good for you. Don't worry about what anyone thinks, it's your body and you know what you can take.

wow I'm a whimp. I use 1 pound hand weight. I was contemplating moving up to two pound weights but heck I just started working out. 4 is plenty.

I think a little massage oil on the grips of her weights would fix her or you could swap out her weights for something a few pounds heavier.
