My sister and her DH are driving down to Disney as I sit her typing this!:p This is a very bittersweet trip for them. DH's sister was diagnosed a few months ago with cancer, in many parts of her body. The doctors tried chemo and radiation, but it didn't work. They told her about 2 weeks ago that she had 2 - 6 weeks left. My sister and her husband's family discussed their cancelling this trip, but his sister told them not to. They had been there for her the whole time and this vacation was their time. My brother in law said that if something happened while they were down there, he was coming home. She didn't want him to, but he wasn't going to listen! Well, yesterday afternoon, they received the phone call. She wasn't going to survive the night. They went over and said their good byes.:( She didn't want them to come back for her memorial service (no viewing or funeral). This was like the ultimate gift his sister could give them. I know what sister and DH are driving down with heavy hearts. I hope and pray that Disney magic will relieve some of the pain they are feeling.

Oh.... how sweet of his sister.... she knows they love her and it sounds like she is at peace.... I hope they can enjoy the magic.

That is so sad to hear, Colleen. My prayers are with Dennis' sister and family, along with Dennis and you guys. And do hope the WDW trip is a healer for your sister and family. {Hugs} to all. Thanks for sharing, Colleen.

Dan, your comment about prayers for Dennis' sister confused me. I just re-read my post and I see how you'd be confused!;) When I said "DH", I was referring to my sister's DH (guess I should of had more coffee before I posted this morning!). It is my sister's husbands sister would passed away yesterday. Thanks for the prayers. I'll pass them on to her if she calls from Florida. She was originally planning on going into the MK tonight to see SpectroMagic. I don't know what time they left PA last night but they were planning on driving straight through.

I feel your pain! In 4 days, my cousin will be flying to Myrtle Beach with her husband & 2 little boys. She is 33 & was diagnosed with lung cancer a year ago. (She's a non smoker!!) Treatments didn't work with her either. This may be her last trip. But I pray it isn't. So, I know what you're going thru!:( What is nice is her husband's boss offered to fly them in the company's private jet & take care of the hotel. Its nice to know their are good companies out there. I will keep your family in your prayers.

My sister called awhile ago. They are now in SC. She said they left 11 pm last night. She and her husband are amazed. His sister DID NOT pass on last night! The hospice worker had told them, at one point last evening, that she would be gone in 2 hours at the most. She had that "death rattle". As of this morning, she is still with her family. She does not wake up anymore though. At least my brother in law had a chance to say good bye. That's more than a lot of people do.....:(

How very sad :( I'm so sorry to hear this.

{{{{{{HUGS}}}}} to them!
