My sister just got back and she hated them telling her when to eat, and what to wear, and when to do things... I feel sorry for her because I love getting waited on and relaxing , and who cares if you have to eat dinner every night at 5:30, if you choose not to you can just order room service or eat something.... I can't belive she didn't like it... I guess you can tell she likes doing things HER way...

I guess the old saying is true - different strokes for different folks. On our first cruise there was a woman (who we kept bumping into after we shared a tour bus in Nassau so she thought she could chat at will I guess) who did nothing but complain!

Disney didn't book her flights right, the parks were closing when they got in.

Disney didn't foresee the hurricane so why shouldn't we just sail through it and do CC anyway?

Lumiere's smelled fishy...the colors in Parrot Cay were too bright...the waiters didn't really change color in Animator's they just switched their vests inside out...

and on and on and on....we avoided and evaded but some people just gotta complain!

Quite frankly we were just as glad to avoid the winds, rain, and other associated perils of the hurricane, especially with the great perks DCL provided.

Wenpop,
Tell your sister to try Norwegian Cruise Line. They have the new "freestyle" cruising thing now. I was on it in March and I was not expecting to like it, but it was kind of nice for a relaxing change. No, it's not Disney, but it might be more to her taste if she wants to try cruising again. You eat where you want when you want, with lots of choices. You can dress "casual" all the time if you want.

I dunno.... I love sailing on the ocean so much. That alone makes up for whatever little problems pop up along the way. Too bad your sister didn't enjoy her cruise.

Also has freestyle dining. And that Grand Princess sure did look grand when we saw her in St. Thomas.......

Hey with Palo's, Topsider's, Room Service. Pluto's and Pinnochio's Pizza you can eat ANYTIME you want. Food is available 24 hours a day. You never have to dine in the restaurants if you don't want too.

wenpop,

Everything your SiL hates about cruising is what I love about cruising...no decisions to make they are already made for me. No worrying about picking a resurant that everyone will like, no worrying about what time to go to dinner to avoid the crowds, no worrying about what to wear, I just follow the clearly stated dress code.

radison seven seas also has open dining (not set seating times or places)...
personally, i think i kind of like not having to make any decisions....i know that at such and such a time i will be sitting at table x in restaurant y......i love not making decisions on vacation....DCL was perfect for me...

My first and only other cruise was on NCL in Dec. I enjoyed the freestyle dining.
DH & DS10.5 will be going on their first cruise in 10.5 wks. The dining will be different than my first cruise but we will be on DCL with the larger staterooms. There are other dining options if we dont make it to our assigned restaurant at the assigned time.

I know a lot of people who really are not happy unless they have something to be UNhappy about.
