Wow, thanks guys...you're too nice! It really just takes a LOT of time, practice (have you seen my first album! Gosh!) and a teeny bit of creativity.
Let's see, I will try to answer some of your questions....
CRB#33 & Nick the Cat (cute name!):
I buy most of my materials at my local Scrapbook Store...Scrapbookers Paradise...oh my...it's overwhelming to go in there! Once you start scrappin, you develop a style of your own...mine, so I've been told, is very clean and precise. I like using printed papers (that you can get at any SB store) for my backgrounds and then I mat my pictures, usually with cardstock...HOW I do this depends on my mood for each page I guess. I don't use too many stickers but I LOVE the embellishments (like eyelets, buttons, ribbon etc) and I use my computer for almost all my titles and journaling. Then I just let my creativity take over from there.
Pugdog007, Sasha was amazing! He was funny and very friendly. Sometimes we couldn't understand him but we had some fun with it. Hmm, we got his address, maybe I should send him the link...he's in half my album anyway
Hopkins, I know what you mean! I had a hard time with my first album with regards to cutting my pictures. For my cruise, I got double prints and felt SO much better about it! LOL
Nick the Cat, For a long while, our stores were very limited in supplies as well, until Scrapbookers Paradise opened. Even then, they still didn't have stuff that I like to work with. I ordered tons of embellishments on the internet. There are TONS of sites with great SB products, anything you want, it's out there!
Some of the stuff I used in my album was from the cruise. I used postcards, parts of the brochure, breakfast menu and other stuff left in our stateroom...just take everything home with you and then decide what you want in your SB.
My hubby brought my SB to work and got such great response from it, he told me to do SB's for others as a job. So he made me put together a flyer and stuff. I would LOVE to do that as a career, but it is VERY expensive, for supplies and people don't realize it sometimes. It probably cost me about $350 CDN just for materials for ONE album. Not counting some basic supplies I had already invested in and my TIME! But I put together a price list and he took it to work and if I have any takers, I will be VERY happy to do SB's!!! His mom might be my first customer

She's the shoe box lady...you know...take 12 rolls of pictures and get them developed and then put them in a show box for 25 years
Anyway, thanks for the wonderfully nice comments and if you have any more Q's...I will be around
