So, not to steal the thunder from the other Wave review, I thought I would just post mine separately. I don't really do restaurant reviews (don't take food porn photos either!), but I had included this in a trip report I wrote, so I thought I would post it here. I'd definitely try the Wave again, but it wasn't so wonderful to me. One of the better WDW meals, definitely, but not my favorite of all time. Read on ...
The Wave - June 16, 2009
Then, we headed to The Wave. I think we had a 5:30 reservation. We checked in and got our beeper. They have a very cool waiting area there very fitting with the Contemporary theme low tables and seating, and low modern lighting. We decided to grab a drink at the bar while we were waiting and before the bartender could even finish our drinks, they buzzed us for our table. We were seated in the back room, which I really enjoyed. There is a larger main dining room area, then a separate back room that is partially separate with some moveable wall panels - its really pretty neat, just hard to explain. So although you could see the main dining room and you could pass through the wall openings to move between the two, it still seemed quite private. And it was quiet in the back room as well. So good seating!
So, The Wave! How was it? Pretty good, but I think I ordered the wrong thing, maybe (funny, this was the same thing I said about Flying Fish in December). The menu was impressive (Im sure you can check it out on AllEars), but I couldnt figure out what to order. In the end, I ordered fall food! Meaning everything I ordered seemed better suited to an October meal. But it was what was most appealing to me on the menu, despite my misgivings over the seasonality. I had a Corn & Bacon soup as an appetizer and it was very good, and a pork tenderloin choice for my entrée in fact, it was this: Cinnamon-rubbed Grilled Pork Tenderloin - with Honey-roasted Root Vegetables and Apple Cider Sauce. See what I mean about fall? That just sounds like an autumn meal to me it was good, but it just seemed poorly timed or something. I had a glass of a very good Riesling to go with it. DH had the lamb shank - Braised Lamb Shank - with bulgur wheat- lentil stew and red wine sauce. He had the crab cake for an appetizer, but being from Maryland, I just couldnt order crab cakes at WDW! He said his meal was very good, but he wasnt crazy about the bulgur-lentil stuff that came with it. He had the Shiraz wine flight to go with his meal.
We skipped dessert, which is unheard of for me. I was full and I was not at all impressed with the dessert menu. DH felt the same everything seemed to have some kind of fruit involved and he doesnt eat fruit. Nothing significant with chocolate on the menu! I copied this from AllEars so you could get an idea.

Crispy and Crunchy - Vanilla-braised Pineapple Spears, Almond-Pineapple-Raisin "Baklava", or Zucchini-Carrot Cake with Vanilla Panna Cotta $7.99
Freshly Crafted Sorbets - Lemon-basil, Pineapple or Strawberry $7.99
No Sugar Added Desserts - Chocolate-Mint Mousse, Fresh Berries with Panna Cotta, or Vanilla Bean Créme Brulée $7.99
There was nothing there that really appealed to me. Were not foodies, but I dont consider myself entirely unsophisticated either -we eat out quite a bit at home and usually at nicer places. But somehow chocolate-passion fruit mousse with pecan-olive brittle sounded almost gross to me more than anything else! I guess I'm just a rube!
So total for dinner, with wine and without dessert, TiW discount + tip = $103. Really pretty reasonable for a nicer WDW restaurant.
I'd definitely give it a try - it is one of the nicer restaurants in WDW.
