I spent 5 nights at POFQ before heading down to Vero Beach. IT was the first time I had ever visited this moderate resort. I decided to pick this resort to try out because many said it was not spread out like POR.

I will first begin with all the things I did like.

1. catching the boat to DD. What a wonderful experience that was. We stayed in building #5 and it was a short walk past the pool to the boat.

2. I was able to get my builiding request, which was #5. My room was a long walk from the elevator (we were on the 3rd floor) I believe we were in room 5306, which was right across from laundry room

3. The food court. Although the choices were a bit limited, it was a nice place, very clean and well maintained.

4. The atmosphere. It was intimate, and I liked that. My son had a wonderful time at the pool.

What I did not like

I had a problem with the management of the grounds. It seemed to me that the grounds were not being properly kept - the landscaping left much to be desired, leaves all over the place. The hot tub had had leaves and flowers in it that had fallen from trees. Now, I know that this is expected and a part of nature, but even if this were my home I would take a blower and blow around that so that all the debris from the ground would not go into the hot tub every time I walked in it. It was nasty! The exterior corridors were dirty in some areas.
I did report this to the management because I would hate to see Disney lose any money to dissatisfied customers. I am forever a Disney Resort fan, and I want too remember Disney the way I did when I first set foot on the property 13 years ago!
I did love POFQ despite the gounds issue, and I would stay there again. My son really loved it - especially the slide, and he is 8 years old.

The Wildnerness Lodge was soooooooo wonderful!!!!!!! I will be back there next year!!!!!!!!!! 5 nights were not long enough!!!!!!!!!!!
We got there after spending 3 nights a VB. We arrived at the WL at around 2:30 and our room was ready.
I loved taking the boat to the MK and over to FT. Wilderness. Being able to rent boats to go out with my son will be somthing I will do next year. I loved the pool area. The lobby was spectacular. We were in a woodsview room, which was slightly over to the left of the Cub's Den. Next year, I would like to be on the 1st floor, if possible in a poolview area.
I did not eat a WC, but we did eat at RF. the food was OK there.
When I checked in to WL I spoke to the woman at the front desk. I explained the conditions at POFQ, and she said that someone else had told her the same thing. She said it was a good thing that I made WL the last leg of my trip so I would not be disappointed. She was right.

The grounds were lovely. I saw men cleaning up the grounds with a blower. Ummmmm, I wonder why I did not witness this at POFQ????
There was only one thing I noticed about the WL, and that was the elevator. The wood was sooo scratched up, and the brass plate around the buttons needed to be polished. Other than that the WL was immaculate!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In my opinion - beautiful beautiful beautiful.

We've stayed at POFQ twice, and both time the hot tub was broke, probibly from not cleaning out the leaves and such.

We are trying to pick a resort for our Christmas trip and I think you convinced me on WL.

We've stayed there twice during Christmastime and you will NOT be disappointed! I LOVE that resort!

We loved POFQ when we stayed a few weeks ago....my fav so far (loved AKL too but won't be able to afford unless they have codes again!)

We didn't notice the landscaping issues. In fact, we saw grounds crews cleaning and preening the areas each day.

We will go back!!! Hopefully, very soon!

So glad you enjoyed your visit to Wilderness lodge and by next year the few things you noticed should be corrected. The Lodge has been opened 11 years, starting in January 2006 they will be starting a room-by-room rehab with new carpet, wallpaper, bedspeads just bring eveything back-up to it's original beauty.
