Just back from a fabulous trip to Vero Beach and Beach Club Villas.

Restaurants in WDW:

Beaches and Cream - ice cream! Yum! Loved having a great ice cream shop so close to my hotel room, lol (villa)

Spoodles on the Boardwalk - okay. Liked the flatbread appetizer. Pasta was just okay. very loud restaurant

O'Hanas - yum! Had a great time there. I only tried it thanks to this board.

Yachtsman Steakhouse - loved this place. Loved it so much we ate there twice in a week. Filet Mignon for me both times. Loved that wine sauce with it. I didn't even need A-1 and this girl loves her A-1 sauce!

Jiko's at AKL - wow! Great restaurant. Wonderful. My only complaint was that many of the customers in the restaurant had their noisy, misbehaving children with them. Don't get me wrong our 5 year old was with us too, but when she misbehaves we get her to stop. Other family's (one in particular) would let their kids literally get up from their seats, walk around the restaurant and lean up against the windows looking at the pond outside. They were also noisy. This isn't McDonald's, so I don't understand why parents couldn't get their kids to behave for an hour so others could enjoy their pricey meal. OK, vent done! I had the filet with the macaroni and cheese, olive flatbread, and the apple something dessert. Apple dessert was okay, but the rest of the meal was VERY good!

Rainforest Cafe at DD - okay...I go there for the atmosphere really, not the food, lol

Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge - why on earth is this place the WHISPERING canyon? LOL - it's so loud! I loved it though. To see my dh do a dance as all the men had to do was priceless. Didn't have my camera with me though as I lost it (stolen?) at Epcot the night before. <sigh>

50's Primetime Cafe - fun as usual. Love this place.

Mama Melrose's (sp?) - well, this place was named after me, so I love it of course! Got the cannoli for dessert - didn't like it. Rigatoni for entree - liked it.

Breakfast in Norway with the Princesses (epcot) - very nice. Saw Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Mary Poppins and Belle. I think this was just as nice as the Castle breakfast.

Cape May Cafe - Goofy, Minnie, Chip and Dale. Very good food.

Anyway, that's the recap. Really enjoyed it. I am 3 pounds heavier now, but they were all worth it! Thank God for all the walking I have to do at WDW or it would be much more than 3 pounds! (DH gained 10 pounds, lol.) Ahhhh!

Thanks for this board's suggestions! I know I would never have tried Jiko's or O'Hana's if it wasn't for this board!

Sounds like you had some great dining experiences. Jiko's is one of our favorite's, luckily we haven't been when there's been noisy children.
Thanks for the reviews!

Thanks :)

I cannot wait to try Jiko sometime. We went to Boma a few weeks back (thanks to this board) and had a truly amazing meal.

Thanks for the fab reviews - luv reading them.

With regards to noisy childred I know what you mean. If parents want to let their childred misbehave and be unruly then perhaps they should save their money and eat at McDonalds. That way the rest of us could enjoy our meals in peace and quiet.

Good reviews! Glad you liked Jikos. Lots of previous posts wondering if Jiko's is "suitable" for kids. I guess your post answers that question!!

Everytime I read a good post about Jiko I wonder what I missed. I HATED this place. I found the service terrible, the food average, and the atmosphere dark and barren. I felt like I was eating in the dining room in the house in the Beetlejuice movie. I kept looking for Harry Belafonte to come out singing "Day OH" :p :p

It was so bad I don't want to even try it again but so many people seem to love it..........

Thanks for all the great reviews, especailly Jikos. I hope to try it, if not in June, on the next trip. I'm glad to hear more folks refer to the Rainforest as a little blah. I thought I was missing something...

Rneighh, that is so funny. We've had mixed experiences at Jiko. If we go back I'm sure I'll think of Day O!:p

Thanks for the reviews, Melrosgirl. Sounds like lots of good dining!
