My ressies are for four people, what happens if I show up with five people ?

I made all my ADRS awhile ago, all for four people, now my mother in law wants to come with us Well, I've been trying for ADRS for five and will continue to try, but what would happen if we show up as a party of five ?

Has anyone had to do this and what was your experiences ?

I think that a party of five takes a table for a party of six and unless there is an open table/availability you will be out of luck.

Halle is correct. They will not be able to seat you. Disney is pretty strict about these things. Sorry.

Keep trying online for a reservation for 5 because you're going to need a larger sized table. You'll be going from a 4 top to a 6 top so if you can't find anything for 5 you can also try for a party of 6. You can keep checking with the concierge at your resort after you arrive at DW, if necessary.

The restaurants will try their best to seat you if you show up with an extra person, but depending on how popular or how busy the restaurant is, they may only be willing to seat 4 of you. On our last trip we were at Le Cellier when they were turning away anyone who was late or not on a reservation. It's not something that I would want to worry about when I'm on vacation.

We did this last year without a problem. I believe we did it at Tutto Italia, Sci Fi, and planet hollywood. We went from a reservation of 4 to a table of 6. I have 2 brothers who live in FL and I wasn't sure when they would be joining us. However, they were fully prepared to just go to a CS if they couldn't get in. In all 3 cases the hostesses were like "sure, no problem." I think they always have some no shows and people that show up with less people than their ressie was made for. I know we've done that before too if one of our kids was having a meltdown.

I'm sure some places like le cellier you probably will not have any luck. Also we were there in low season so that probably makes a big difference too.

I personally wouldnt be to concerned. Yes, you are going from a 4 top to a 6 top table... HOWEVER so many people make reservations and then dont show up that 95% of the time you will be fine. Yes, at the more popular spots you may be turned away, there is always that chance, but if you already have a ADR for 4 people, but show up with 1 more, chances are good that a minimum of 2 people no showed. I would keep checking for an ADR for 5 just for peace of mind, but otherwise you should be okay. Ive also found that if I cancel an ADR for x number of people, and than search right after adding in the additional person I need, usually the reservation with show up with the number of people I need. Hope that helps!

I would also keep checking for a party of 6...most of the time you will be seated at a 6 top table anyway.

We had a similar situation and found ressies for a party of 1. Then at check-in just ask to be seated together.

I would keep trying to get an ADR for 5 or 6 people so you know that your party will be seated together at the same time. You can try for ADRs of 1 to guarantee that everyone in your party will get to eat, but if the restaurant is busy and/or does not have an available table for 5, you may be required to honor the original ADRS of 4 and 1. They will try to seat you near each other, but if the available tables are across the restaurant, then those are the ones you'll get.

There is no way of knowing what will happen until you get there. If the restaurant is a popular one, or they are just very busy, your extra guest won't be seated. You will indeed need a larger table than the one you have booked, so that is what makes it a bit trickey.

Your best bet is to luck into an ADR for 5 people, and cancel your old ADR. Barring that, show up with your extra person early and throw yourself on the mercy of the CM. But please keep in mind there is no guarantee of the extra person being seated. You may be lucky, or you may not be lucky.

I've had a reservation for 3 but, only 2 of us showed up and it wasn't a problem....
