Hi, we are going to Disney from January 19 to January 26. I've got two girls, 5 years old and 2 years old.
These are my reservations:
January 19th: Dinner Chef Mickey
January 22th: Breakfast Hollywood & Vine (Fantasmic dinner package) (HS)
January 23th: Lunch Be Our Guest and dinner at Crystal Palace (MK)
January 24th: Breakfast The Garden Grill and Dinner Rose & Crown. I think we are going to lunch at Sunshine Seasons (Epcot)
January 25th: Lunch at Tusker (ROL dinner package). I want to dinner at Satuli Canteen (AK).
January 26th: Dinner at Park Fare.

What do you think?

Hi Brian and Welcome to The Dis!:welcome: That's a lot of character meals, have your kids been exposed to the the Disney gang before? On our two granddaughters first trip the 4 yr. old was mostly terrified of them, the character meal we had was a huge waste of money. But if your kids are cool with that...it's still a lot of character meals. For food quality the best character dining on your list will likely be Garden Grill and Tusker House. The others get mixed reviews (at best) Chef Mickey's being especially uneven. You'll get some other opinions here shortly. Welcome aboard!:earsboy:

I agree with PP, it's a little heavy on the character meals. Chef Mickey, GG, and Tusker House have a lot of the same characters....I would probably cut out one or two of those (of the 3, GG is my favorite. I would lose CM).

I like the way you have the character stuff covered. Remember you save hours in a line every time your girls eat at one of those buffets. I would give one warning Hollywood & Vine the food is bad to be polite but the character interaction at breakfast is 1st rate and they should love it BTW breakfast at GG is pretty good and the characters are great.

For Epcot consider akershus instead of garden grill. My 5 yo loves meeting belle, Ariel, rapunzel, Snow White and Cinderella. you will already be meeting Mickey and goofy at chef Mickey and tusker

I was also going to suggest Akershus for breakfast on your Epcot day. It is a pretty decent breakfast buffet, but good princess interaction.

I think with all dining reservations, you have to decide (for yourself) what you are wanting and also what you are wanting to get out of them. Taking advantage of the character interactions (as well as some of the packages you have) will be great. Some may think you have too many, but when my kids (especially my daughter) were those ages, the characters were every bit as important to them as anything else we did while in the World. If your plans are making your family happy, you are set and enjoy them without any second thoughts !

Hi, we are going to Disney from January 19 to January 26. I've got two girls, 5 years old and 2 years old.
These are my reservations:
January 19th: Dinner Chef Mickey :lovestruc Chef Mickey is Disney World to me, the monorail whizzing by, the characters, the hustle and bustle of the Contemporary. Some folks complain about the food but I like it, especially the Parmesan Potatoes.
January 22th: Breakfast Hollywood & Vine (Fantasmic dinner package) (HS) While the food is not that terrific, the experience of meeting the Disney Jr characters will make it all worthwhile for your littles
January 23th: Lunch Be Our Guest and dinner at Crystal Palace (MK) We love lunch at BoG! I crave that Tuna Nicoise salad! We are less impressed with Crystal Palace dinner, but again it is the character experience that makes it special. There is one thing I love on the buffet, the roasted corn spoon bread.
January 24th: Breakfast The Garden Grill and Dinner Rose & Crown. I think we are going to lunch at Sunshine Seasons (Epcot) Never had breakfast at the GG. I think I'm the only person out there that doesn't like Sunshine Seasons, most rave about it. One great thing is that there are lots and lots of options for every taste. Rose & Crown was just 'eh' for us, we have no need to go back.
January 25th: Lunch at Tusker (ROL dinner package). I want to dinner at Satuli Canteen (AK). I've never been to either of these
January 26th: Dinner at Park Fare. Love this!!! We got a truly last minute ADR when I went with some girlfriends and we all LOVED it! The food was a notch or two above other buffets and the character interaction was wonderful. The step sisters are hilarious!

I think you've chosen well for 2 little girls. We used to do ALL the character meals when my kids were younger and it was a great way to meet them without standing in line. They enjoyed the excitement of the characters and it added to our experience.
I hope you enjoy your picks!

Hi, we are going to Disney from January 19 to January 26. I've got two girls, 5 years old and 2 years old.
These are my reservations:
January 19th: Dinner Chef Mickey We always do breakfast here, but either way it's Disney to us.
January 22th: Breakfast Hollywood & Vine (Fantasmic dinner package) (HS) This was just okay for us, but worth it for the characters.
January 23th: Lunch Be Our Guest and dinner at Crystal Palace (MK) Lunch is our favorite meal at BOG. Make sure you preorder to avoid the lines. We've only had breakfast at CP which was okay, but if you have Pooh fans than it's probably worth it.
January 24th: Breakfast The Garden Grill and Dinner Rose & Crown. I think we are going to lunch at Sunshine Seasons (Epcot) Garden Grill is one of our favorite character meals. The character interaction is always great. Sunshine Seasons is always good. We tried Rose & Crown for the first time this past summer and all really enjoyed our dinners.
January 25th: Lunch at Tusker (ROL dinner package). I want to dinner at Satuli Canteen (AK). We all really enjoyed Tusker House.
January 26th: Dinner at Park Fare. We enjoyed this buffet and the character interaction was great. The stepsisters and stepmother were really funny.

You've got a lot of characters covered in your reservations, which will save you a lot of time not having to meet them in the parks. When my kids were younger we always did this, too.

While we always schedule character meals, I think you have a lot of them planned. I also think all of those you have planned, with the exception of Garden Grill, are buffets. With two young kids that does not make for a relaxing meal. I find we are constantly managing getting food and judging when the characters will arrive.

I agree what others have said about being able to skip character lines in the park, but I would not do a character meal every day.

I’ve cancelled 1900 Park Fare and replaced for CRT lunch at last day.
Last year we’ve been In wdw and my 5yo girl loved CRT and Hollywood & Vine, while The younger one (was 1 year old) was scared of most of The characters. This year after watching The pictures, the younger one asked why she isnt In The pictures. I told her she was scared and she told me she is not anymore scared and that she wants to take pictures with them.
