My reservations were canceled by Disney?

I called Disney Dining this morning to modify an ADR I had made for Chef Mickey's on 11/22. When I attempted to make the change, they said that I had canceled the reservation on 9/22. I know I did not do this, and I checked with my husband who said he wouldn't even know how to cancel an ADR (and I believe him!). After insisting on speaking to someone higher up, I finally spoke with someone who said he'd look into this and call me back in 72 hours, but could not assure me I'd have my ADR back.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? How could this occur? Do I have any sort of recourse if they fail to honor the reservation I made months ago? This is our arrival day and my boys were really looking forward to this dinner.

That stinks! I'm so sorry that happened to you. Only thing I can think of is they have been revamping the whole ADR thing so maybe it was just a computer glitch? Maybe your ADR will show up in the system? I know there was a lot of craziness with the ADR's yesterday. I wouldn't wait for them to call me back, I would call and see if I could get a ressie for the date and time you originally had.

Do you have your confirmation numbers??? I think those would help- hopefully you do.

Call and ask if you can talk to a manager??? Does it even work like that on the phone with Disney Dining, I'm not sure?

Not really sure, but hoping you can get it figured out. Everyone and their brother at WDW would be hearing from me until it gets straightened out!! Good luck and keep us posted!!!

Tell me it isn't so. I'll be arriving on 11-21 and I have adr's til 11-29. I guess I'll be calling to confirm all of them tonight when I get home. boy I'd be mad. Hopefully everything will be okay.

If an ADR was cancelled, they should have the name of the person who called to cancel. Every time I cancelled something, they always asked for my name.

Sorry that happened to you!! Thanks for sharing, I'm calling and confirming my ADRs as soon as I am finished here!

Thanks for sharing. We have ADRs for 12/4-5. I'd be seriously upset if my 12/4 is canceled since it's our anniversary dinner and DH is dying to try Cape May on 12/5. I'm going to call to double check tonight.

Once, when I called to cancel an exsisting reservation and move it to a different restuarant, luckily she mentioned the restuarant because that was not my reservation but somebody elses that she was about to cancel. I just could not imagine if I didn't catch it. Somebody showing up for dinner and your reservation not there.

Was it only one of your reservations? Or all?

Good Luck

I'm so sorry this happened to you OP! Hopefully, they will be able to fix this for you. I'm sending you some good vibes! :goodvibes I'm calling to check on mine today

For those who called to confirm their ADR's were they alright? Just wondering we've been doing ADR's for years and never had an issue so just curious if anyone else had an issue with the dining system being worked on.

I called a couple weeks ago to confirm all of mine and they were all correct. I was wondering if I needed to call again after the new system was active.

I had this same thing happen to me. I called to cancel a reservation and they typed the confirmation # in wrong. When she read the ressie back to me, it was not mine!

I checked mine on Sat. They asked for the # and then my name. So it appears that person was making sure they had the right person. Hope it works out for you.

That stinks! And I don't know how much it would even help if you had your conformation # cause they would still say it's cancled. I would definately put up some kind of arguement to a mgr about it. I would not let it go. They do make mistakes so they sould fix them. I am sure you know if you cancel your ress or not. Good Luck I hope they give it back to you.

Thats awful, hopefully they will be able to "add" you back in. Confirmation #s hopefully will help.

I do recommend calling to confirm before you leave. We had two incidences with Chef Mickeys. 1st trip I called to confirm a couple days before we left..and they actually had put me in for the Morning BEFORE we arrived. I know I wouldn't have made that reservation. They were very apologetic but there was nothing else available at that late date...So I said forget it..we were going again in 5 months so she offered to make a reservation for that trip which we did.

Well 5 months later I didn't confirm before we left..and we showed up at Chef Mickeys for our 8:15AM breakfast...confirmation # in hand. Opps they had made the reservation for 8:15PM not AM. (yeah I'm gonna do that with a 4 and a 1 year old). One look at my face, and they descretely fixed it on the spot and brought us to our table.

This just happened to friends of ours but only in a different way. I rented him some points to stay at DVC for three nights and reserved the meal plan for him. When he arrived he was told that he had no meal plan since they needed 72 hours notice. They actually had 4 months notice and when I phoned Member Services to inquire about it, they knew that I had asked for it but blamed it on bad training of cast members

Yes - it has happened to me before - and for Chef Mickeys. I was furious. They said I called and cancelled on a day that I had never even called. The only thing I could possibly figure out is that it was cancelled once when I called to modify a seperate ADR - but that does not explain the date issue.

I complained and complained and got no where fast. I ended up calling every day for about a week (several times a day) hoping for a cancellation. Finally I got lucky about 3 days before we were ready to begin our drive to WDW.

I can totally understand your frustration.

I don't ask about reservations I have all ready made - I show up at the restaurant with my confirmation numbers and expect to be seated. I have had on several occasions them tell me my reservations were cancelled on such and such a date and I have looked at them and said, 'no." I have always been seated.

I am one who doesn't call back and change things around so its not like things would even get messed up while I was doing something else and as for my husband I doubt he even knows the names of the restaurants we go to at Disney (and we go alot!) To think he would be able to figure out how to call them and cancel them is almost funny.

This is really the best course of action. Until that new system is up and running and we are *hopefully* able to print off our ADRs, calling back to confirm and change and so on is only asking for trouble. The humen element in the system creates way too many opportunities for error. I call at 180 days out, write down all of the confirmation #s and times. I do not call back prior to our trip. When we arrive at the resort, I ask the concierge to print off all of our ADRs and match them up with list. If I find even one incongruity I either call Dining and fix it right then or just show up at the restaurant and get seated at my time without question or argument. I have yet to meet the host or manager that would refuse this, and I can only think of one slip-up by Dining in all the years we've been going.
