I added the deluxe dining plan to my trip today through DVC. We are supposed to be staying at the WLV from Jan26-30. I decided to check the DVC site and found they had changed my reservation that months ago said WLV now to Saratoga Springs. They also changed the points used. Is this a glitch? Could adding the dining plan today have done this? I am getting so nervous, that is our least favorite resort and we booked months ago for WL. I am going to call the moment they open in the am, but this scares me. I have never had this happen before. Anyone here ever have this happen? TIA!!

It sounds ominous. Certainly call them and let us know what happens. If the resort is different AND the points are adjusted, I'd say you now are reserved at SSR. I'm assuming you didn't have a wait list along the way that you forgot to cancel that might have filled and created this issue.

Check your points/my vacation section of the website, the new online section, and http://www.mydisneyreservation.com/dvc and see what each has to report. You can also check the new online site for past wait lists that may have changed your reservation.

We thought that we had a reservation cancelled last year. It ended up that they changed the reservation number for some reason. I hope everything works out with your reservation.

I previously read a post where something similar happened when the DDP was added to a resv. I'm curious what you found out. We're contemplating doing the DDP for a segment of our trip.

Same thing happened to me last year at this time. I posted about it back then because I found out when I went to check in at AKV that somehow I was mysteriously moved to Saratoga without my knowledge or consent - that also changed our points and threw some into "holding". end result was that they corrected it but said they couldn't explain why it happened.

I'm curious to what they say happened to yours.

On that trip, did you use Magical Express? Just wondering if you had, was the switch made after the tags were sent out. That must have been so upsetting to find out as you checked in.

No...we didn't use magical express, we drove - 16 hours so we were tired when we got there and hearing ....um we don't have you at this location was not what we needed to hear on arrival.

like the op, we added dip after th original reservation. I wonder if that's where the glitch is.... I hope op posts again because I'd like to know what she found out.

These things don't happen simply by mistake, at least you're not accidentally changed from one resort to another. One can have a wait list that someone failed to cancel or they can "overbook" a given resort and you can be the odd man out. Or someone can mistakenly cancel your reservation while working on it and then when they try to rebook, it's not there. Did you ever pin them down as to what happened? A computer glitch is not a feasible answer in this situation.

Yes, please let us know what you found out. I hope we don't have to keep checking our reservations (guess what I'm going to do right now....)

I say its possible. I've seen data issues where a piece of old data (not cleaned up in a timely manner) gets attached to something new.

Nope...they never came up with a reason....at least none that they shared. some online here had theories at the time but they contacted me while I was still there and they could not give an answer.

I'm still hoping op will write back and say what they told her.

You let them off too easy. They can track exactly when it happened and by whom.

That's scary..I hope the OPs reservation is right still. We will be adding dining soon and this makes me nervous.

It looks like she is on her trip now, so we'll have to wait at least a few more days to find out.

Completely forgot to come back and let you know what happened!!! So when I booked my deluxe dining the dvc castmemeber actually added my dining and also went and changed my reservation to saratoga springs! I don't know why she did it but she did. I spoke to a supervisor the next day and she couldn't figure out why she had done that either but she fixed it and changed my reservation back to VWL. We had a great trip. I will always be a little scared to add dining though now, never had anything like this happen before. The supervisor was great though and fixed it the moment I called and apologized and stated she didn't know why she had changed it.

Thanks for letting us know. It's threads like these that make me say "what the hell did I just buy into!!!!"

We decided long ago never to do the ddp again. So hopefully, I won't get any of these :headache: by skipping the DDP feature.
