Katrina! :smooth: My father gave me the nick name of Kitty when I was young, and well that is what everyone calls me except for a few people!

Now with the mess that the storm has caused, you have no idea of all the stuff that I have heard! I feel so bad for all those people and pets! Please keep them in your Prayer's!

Real name is Heidi, and yes I was named for the movie.

Marcia. I wish I had a nickel for all the times someone does the Brady Bunch "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!" I know my nick is Marseeya, but that's not the way you pronounce my name... it was a nickname someone gave me in high school. :goodvibes

Linda Ferry, named for a dead aunt  I desperately wanted a cool name growing up, but I was stuck. When naming my four kids, Chris, Zack, Shelby and Zoe, I refused to name them after any dead relatives.

Kayla and I will tell you how I got it if You promise NOT to laugh and NOT to tell the Tag Fairy

Fingers crossed they are not paying attention ;)

Okay 34 years ago when I was born the Name Kayla was unheard of
you will find very few of our generation or older with it (at least around here)
it didn't become popular until the Soap Opera used it

Well anyway it is an a Galiec name and has meaning in some Indian tribe and also Eskimo ( I used to know all the meanings but forgot)

okay here is the embasrassing part

My Mothers friend had an Alaskian Malmutte dog (really pretty i've seen pictures) :dog:
well the Dogs name was Kayla and my Mom thought it was beautiful and she really liked the dog apparently so i was named after it :rotfl:

Oh the jokes i lived thru as a child since no one in my family kept that fact quite

You and me both! I was tortured growing up with the name Cindy (I changed the spelling to Cyndee in jr. high), mostly because I had blonde curly hair. The worst year of my life was first grade when my teacher's name was Mrs. Brady.

Oh Tag Fairy, where are you? :rolleyes1 I promise not to tell on Kayla! I am not laughing Kayla, I promise ya I'm Not.... :rotfl: :rotfl2:

bites hgis tongue:)

My name is Lauren. My parents could not agree on a name that both of them liked except for one day at my grandparents house. My grandmother had found a nice pewter mug at a yardsale and it had a name engraved on it-"Lauren Michelle". My grandmother said it was beautiful, so my parents decided then to name me Lauren Michelle. Not as exciting as being named after a dog, but a yard sale bought pewter mug "ain't too shabby".

My first name is Carrie Lynn, my mom read it in a magazine when she was pregnant with me. After I was born in July, Debbie Reynold's named her daughter Carrie, and then Carolyn Kennedy was born in November. Today Carrie is spelled mostly with a K. :)

My cousin who lives in Florida, named her daughter Katrina, she is 30 now.

Patricia Lee
(Like ya couldn't have figured out the Patricia part!)
I was born on Saint Patty's day!
But as a kid I was called Tricia, then at school age it became Patty
I still find it odd when family calls me Patty or friends call me Trish!

Don't feel too bad, cause if you don't tell people you were named after a dog no one would know.

I on the other hand am always told, oh I have/had or a friend has/had a dog named Heidi. (So what's their point?)

OMG! Can you imagine the torture if I had a lisp? Oh, I shudder at the thought! :rotfl:

No, my legal name is Cynthia, but I go by Cyndee.

You see, it was a race between my mom and my aunt who would have a girl first to name her Cynthia. Thank goodness my mom won, because my dad wanted to name me Nancy, a family name. Of course, I would have had a really hard time living down the name "Nancy Hanks" you know, Lincoln's mother. Thanks, dad.

Pooh67_68--I had a kitty named Heidi Helen Hanks. :rolleyes1 ;)

Jennifer Lynne...
i was named after a doll--i never tell people that haha..
my mom had two dolls when she was young and named the jenny and joey..so im jennifer..my brother is joseph

My name is Linda Lee and I was named after some old song. Not too interesting. My initials were LLL.

Thanks Froggy and MsDisney I knew I could count on you guys :rotfl:

Actually it is kinda a fun story to tell
always makes people smile :goodvibes :goodvibes
