DS - 4.5 (2nd trip)

8 nite trip - 9 day trip

Just a few highlights and random thoughts from our trip.......

Magic Kingdom Halloween Party -
Well worth the money for us. We went Sunday night 10/2 for the full 5 hours. Boy, did we cram in the activity: Pics and autographs with Stitch & Buzz, Space Ranger Spin, TTA, Space Mt., Astro Orbiter, Toon Town Fair, Fireworks, Parade, Philharmagic, Haunted Mansion, POC & Thunder Mt. RR. We really only visited 2 candy stations to trick or treat. We really didn't need the candy and it slowed us down. Little to no lines on the rides and we saw and did tons.

Downtown Disney -
Our family counts DD as the forgotten 5th theme park. :-) We spent over an hour at Goofy's Candy Store alone making the assemble your own slushy cup and doing the assemble a treat thing. We had the CM make a krispy treat with peanut butter cups & chocolate. It was great fun to watch and certainly a Disney steal at only $3. Son got a grab bag at the $10 and under store, it contained a Mickey head straw cup, mini Mickey playing cards, a window cling, postcard and 3-D glasses for the fireworks for only $6.99. Son played at Lego store for another hour after that. Then we went to the toy store where he made computer potato head print outs (free) and watched the monorail set up. Bought a few souveniers at the World of Disney and used our AAA card for 10% off too!

Disney Visa card holder photo & character meet & greet @ Epcot -
What a deal! FREE. The day we visited Mini and Pluto were the 2 characters we had a peaceful unrushed visit with plenty of time for autographs and we only waited in line about 10 minutes. We left with a free 5x7 photo too.

Guest of Honor Badge -
Picked one up at the Celebrity 5 & 10 at Disney Studios. It was only $6.25 including personalizing. My son felt very special the entire trip when CMs and other guests called him by name. Worth every cent. My DH wanted one that said Caleb's Dad but we never got one for him, maybe next time.

Soarin' -
Great new addition to Epcot. Son loved it and was ecstatic that he made the 40" mark to ride. Fast Pass it!!! We walked right to the front all 3 times we rode it, going right past those waiting in a line that was 60 or 80 minutes long! 1st row is best, on rows 2 & 3 the shoes dangling from those in front rows does take something away from it.

Kids Grow Up Way Too Fast -
My 4 year old just made the mark for some of the bigger rides this year at 41" and loved the thrills and excitement of Tower of Terror, Test Track, Big Thunder. He was bored on Small World and didn't care about Dumbo.

Stitch @ MK -
What a waste of time. We walked on but would have been angry had we waited to do that attraction.

Lights Motors Action -
What a great addition to MGM Studios. Good show, what we saw of it. There was a car VS motorcycle accident during the show on Sat. 10/8 and they abruptly ended the show right in the middle. Cycle driver did walk away from it.

Hidden Mickey Hunting -
Very fun - should have started sooner in the vacation. Son was thrilled each time he found one. We'd take a pic of each one we found.

Planning -
Loved my Passporter book and was able to make notes about each day during the trip that will be very helpful in Scrapbooking and remembering the details of our wonderul trip. Also used Tour Guide Mikes advice about when to visit each park and had little to no lines for the first 4-5 days!

Great Movie Ride @ Disney Studios-
Is is just me or is that line insane? We felt like cattle. Our longest wait of the week at about 35-40 minutes.

All in all we had a great week. Dodged some rain but enjoyed every minute. Disney is magic and always makes us feel like we're not in the real world. We were truly blessed to enjoy some family time together in a great place.

That was a very good trip report thank you! I am hoping that my daughter enjoys Disney World as much as her parents but she won't get to go on the big kid rides as she just reaches 33". My husband was trying to figure out ways to stretch her so he could take her on ToT!!
Glad you had fun!! Thanks for sharing

Unfortunatly, The Great Movie Ride sufers the same problem that Spaceship Earth does in the morning--they're positioned FRONT and CENTER. People walk into the park, not knowing where to go, and then wander inwards until they see it. "Hey, let's go on this!"

We didn't even get to the great movie ride until the afternoon. I guess the row after row of stanchion type people movers once you get into the theatre makes you feel like cattle. Moo! :-)

Can't wait!
