I unplugged it so the window measurer could get to my windows for my new windows being installed and when I plug it back in all it does is click. Anyone have recommendations? I'm leaning toward the brother mfc-490cw. It is wired and wireless. Would be great with my laptop and it looks like the cartridges are cheaper than my lexmark cartridges (of course I have a brand new color cartridge I never used.

Almost 3 years ago we purchased a Dell color laser (refurbished of course). The original payout was around $400, but we have not added any toner (at all) and we print at will. It has turned out to be cheaper and much more reliable than ANY inkjet we have ever had (Canon, Several HPs, Lexmark). We do all of our printing wirelessly.

Starwood, if its an "80" color cartridge and you are looking to part with it for a decent price, I would be interested in taking it off your hands. I can't afford to send away for another as they are virtually impossible to find in the stores around here. I can send you a SASE for you to send it to me in.

Please PM me if you are interested in selling it to me. Thanks! :)

Thanks! Oh well, it was worth a try, right??

Good luck printer shopping. I really need a new one but I am trying to hold off until this dinosaur quits. I hate to spend money on a new one if this one is still working, but getting the color cartridges is really hard! It might be worth just buying a newer one.

I decided on another lexmark. The brother uses 4 different ink cartridges and I didn't like that. Now I just have to get it hooked up.

Yeah, but if you have 4 different cartridges you only have to replace the one that is out instead of the whole thing.

I love Brother printers!
I currently have a MFC-685CW which is also wireless and has a fax and answering machine.

I think I paid just under $150 for it. I buy replacement cartridges for it off Ebay (CHEAP) and I do ALOT (I mean A*L*O*T) of printing (I do alot of flyers for various things for my business).

I would highly recommend a Brother printer.
