Sorry, I'm just feeling so devastated because one of our cats has had to be put down today
. He has been losing weight, but was on antibiotics for a chest infection, but seemed to be really struggling last night, so into the vets first thing this morning. When they did a chest x-ray they could see poor Charlie was riddled with tumours in his lungs and kidney, so we made the decision to let him go.
He was nearly 16 - and I know he was only a cat, but he's been part of our family was 16 years (as is his sister who is presently looking for him
). Our poor DD (12) is crying her eyes out because she's only ever known a life with Charlie in it.
What a traumatic day, but I suppose if I look to the positives, at least in the years to come when they celebrate Charlie and Camilla's wedding anniversary, we can celebrate our Charlie too, god rest his soul.
