My Poly Review (among other things)

The buses... I will never ever ever ever not rent a car again. I kicked around the idea for a long time and finally flipped a coin and didn't rent the car. WORST MISTAKE EVER.

We'll never go to Disney without a car, in fact we usually make the 7 hour drive, but this time we're flying and renting a car. I just don't want to have to depend on the bus service, I like having the option of driving to non monorail resorts and parks.

When you say wine country, do you mean LI North Fork. If so, what wineries do you recommend visiting on a weekend for tastings?

yes i am on the north fork. I love Raphael, Pindar, Ospreys Dominion, Macari, Puglesi (sp?). You really can't go wrong at the vineyards out here. Most weekends in the fall someone has live music during the tastings.

Leaving MGM however was a 45 minute wait for a bus... no bus stopped at the Poly stop. All others were getting buses but it took forever for a Poly bust to come. Yes, it was peak leaving time but it was ridiculous!!!

Did you try taking a bus to the TTC? It is a quick walk to the Poly from the TTC.

We just returned from the Poly on the 23rd. I have to agree with you about the buses. I was shocked about the bad bus service! First, I think all of the deluxe resorts should have there own bus. If Disney expects us to pay that much per night for a hotel room, at least give us good bus service. I felt bad for the people staying at the GF. Both times we took the bus to AK it was standing room only before we picked up at GF. We didn't really have to wait long for buses in the morning, the trip to AK just takes forever! Stopping at GF and BB, before AK. We also had a long wait for a bus at MGM one night. We were standing in line and a bus pulled up for the TTC right next to the Poly stop. There was only about 5 people in that line, dh said we should just hop on that one and walk over so we did. They definatly need to get the bus situation fixed. Our youngest dd hated the bus! She would wine and cry every time we got on. If you saw a little girl with brown pigs tails whining for her bottle on the bus, that was us.
