My Points Question

I have a member for 6-7 years now. This year no "birthday offer" where you get 500 points for making a minimum purchase from a list of specific vendors.
This month no "search" points offer; if you do a number of searches you get an additional bonus.

Anyone else noticing a decline in the number of ways to earn points? Last few years a lot more click e-mails to click through where you don't get 5 points; I now scroll down to see if I am going to get 5 pts, if not I delete the e-mail.

I do only the emails. I get about seven a day.

Yea I noticed this too. I hope to make enough points to get a gas card our two but i think My Points is a lost cause now.

I've definitely seen less 5 pointers in my email in the last few months.

But last month I did the spend $10 on World Winner games and get 10,000 points on MyPoints and came out pretty far on top since WW matches your $10. I played the 10 they matched, and cashed out for $15.xx through the WW/GSN site so I really made 5 bucks for playing some games. Then once the 10k points went through on the 8th of this month, I cashed out for $50 pp and have the rest of the points sitting with the other points I have in my account waiting to be cashed for something.

They still have the search points bonus. I received an email for it recently. It's the same do 41 or more searches and get 100 points.

I'm ready to cash out for a Landry's Gift Card but I have to wait a month for points to clear since I did some purchases recently. As for the Birthday thing, I wish they had that! My birthday was yesterday!

I've noticed some changes that give me fewer points (like Lancome no longer giving you 2000 pts for a purchase), but I've had other offers that make up for it. I like the emails that say if you purchase such-and-such, you can get 2000 bonus points (plus they give you a coupon to do it). I recently bought some $4 toilet gel tabs and got 2000 points, and then I got another email for the same thing and did it again. I got one last week like that but it was for baby supplies which I don't need.

I like the button you can download to show you when something you're looking at online qualifies for mypoints. It's a good reminder for me.

ETA: I haven't seen any decrease in the number of click-through 5 pt emails. I've had a lot more survey offers but I hate those and rarely do them.

Putting money onto your game account is whenever you want to, it's not reoccurring. So I added the $10 from my paypal onto my gsn account and that was it. You can cash out on the world winner site anytime you want, i just made sure to use up the amount that they "matched" before i did so it wouldn't go to waste.

The key to surveys is to get "kicked out" during the preliminary questions. That way you pick up 10 points in 30 seconds, instead of sending 30 minutes to get 50 points.

I've noticed the same thing, less and less point offerings. I only do the email clicks now and barely have any. I've not noticed any buy this and get 2000 points offers.

Agree with above. I think it's because they now have competition with eBates and topcashback, where I'd rather get cash than points.

I wonder if there are different tiers of MyPoints users based on history etc? I have accrued a lot of points over the years. I currently have 30,000 to spend Maybe people who have gotten to a certain level get more offers?

It's definitely not what it used to be.

I do all my shopping via Southwest Rapid Rewards now, and only shop through MyPoints if the store is not a SW RR store.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I was saving it for a Marriott gift card when it got close to my trip, but now I'm not going so I guess I'll have to figure out what to cash it out on. I already cashed out $150 in Landry's cards and a $200 Target card. I always have that fear that it will just disappear and I'll be kicking myself for not having used the points before they evaporated.

Tonight I get the email about the bonus for searches. Did not get it at the beginning of the month so I have been doing all my searches through swagbucks instead of splitting them between the 2.

I used to spend most of my time on My Points, and rarely did much on Quickpoints or Sunshine.
But over the past year especially, everything has changed, and suddenly QP and SR are my best performers!

I did just cash in on MP for a $50 WMart Gcard, and don't have far to go till I can get a second one.
I get aggravated at them upping the point cost on the rewards and/or pulling certain ones altogether.
Today I noticed there is no longer a Target Gcard, so I chose the Wmart one instead.

Oh well, something is better than nothing, I guess.

I do a lot with SR, MP is pretty much any vendor that I can't do through SR; I place orders for work that I use MP for. used to do the MP birthday bonus offer which is gone, so mostly just any e-mail that gives 5pts, offers here and there and the monthly searches.
