My Points Pre Paid Visa

I have accumulated a large amount of My Points and I'm trying to figure the best way to use them towards my next Disney vacation.

Can I redeem them for a prepaid visa card and then buy a Disney Gift card?
I was thinking I could do this online. Does anyone know if there is a fee to use a prepaid visa on My Points.

I actually traded in some of my points for cash - they sent it to my paypal account - took about 3 days? then i transferred it to my checking account

The visa is 8900 points for $50 - a Walgreens gift card is 7150 points. You can buy a Walgreen's card and then go buy a Disney gift card with it. I have done this numerous times. The first time I went the girl told me she wasn't sure it would work but she would try. It worked and I have never had a problem with it.

If you are going to any of the Landry Restaurants - TREX, Rainforest, (not sure about Yak n Yeti) the Landry gift cards are a great value (less points for more money). I typically get those or Marriott gift cards (if we are driving down and need an overnight stop). 6750 for a $50.00 card and 3600 for a $25.00 card for the Landry's.

The Pre-paid Visa is the worst cash out on My Points. I did this last year only to find out that the company the Visa is with deducts from the $50.00 and you use more points than any other cash out. You basically only get around $47.00 on the Visa. I will never make that mistake again. No where on the website does it tell this information to you. Buy the Walgreens (as suggested by previous poster) and purchase Disney Gift Cards (equals more $$ for Disney).

This doesn't always work. My Walgreen's can be a pain in the butt about that stuff. But it's a better use of your points if it does work.

This is what we do with our points too.. any left overs i just give to another family.

I just give the rest to my server as an additional tip-- so sometimes they get more than I would ordinarily give - and the leftovers are cash to them -- the regular tip -- its not like I am giving them a RFC gift card with a few bucks on it.

i checked with a manager at walgreens to see if you can buy a gift card with a gift card he said no and showed the small print on their policy but i have bought walmart gift cards and went to walmart and got visa gift cards with them of course that is before they have offered paypal so i don't know if this helps but hope it does

I have done it a couple of times - once in Orlando and once in Chicago and both times asked the servers first and they said that was fine. But I will surely check before I do that again.

Thanks everyone, I think I will compare the points for paypal and wal-mart. If I get a walmart gc there are enough times that I shop there and purchase enough to cover the "cost" of the card. For instance if I buy $50.00 worth of merchandise, add a $50.00 gc and then pay with the $50.00 walmart gc and the rest in cash. I could probalby do that once a month from now until we go in Sept.
