My points are back!

I just got off the phone with MS. I am one of those people who made ressies without knowing the Disney Collection PT schedule. I had ressies at the Poly for a Sunday-Thurs in May of 2002. My confirmation stated that I would be using 176 pts! This is our 10th wedding anniversary and I wanted to stay somewhere special. But... I don't want to use 176 pts. I thought it would be somewhere around 120 or so. Well... just talked to MS and they are restoring all of my 176 pts to use at a DVC resort. I am very relieved and happy that Disney decided to be nice and restore pts. for those who made ressies for the Disney Collection before the pt schedule was made available. Now I have to decide where we would like to stay for anniversary! Our home resort is VWL. Anyway... thought you would like to know that pts will be restored for those who made ressie before knowing the pt chart.

Thanks for sharing the info. DVC is generally reasonable and I'm glad to hear they are in this case as well. It's one thing for the new chart to be a few points above the previous year and quite another to expect a member to swallow a 25%+ increase blind. I'm guessing some people would have to borrow to cover the new costs.

And mkkim - that's GREAT about your points! It was the only logical thing for MS to do! They once "unborrowed" points for me when a trip had to be cancelled due to Hurricane Floyd. They didn't give it a second thought!

Got off the phone with MS and they are doing the same for me. Just when I was feeling down they come through and do the right thing.

Covman.... Glad to hear it! I was ready for MS to say "NO WAY"...but instead it was a very pleasant interaction. They had no problem with converting the points back. It does feel good! Now we have to decide where we are going to stay!

Thanks for reporting that MS did the "right thing". So many times the nay sayers get hysterical and assume they wont!
