My points and T-rex cafe

Can you use the Landry's gift card from Mypoints at the gift shop of the T-rex cafe or does it have to used for food only? The reason I ask is because I have a reservation for the first night of my family's trip, but if there is a flight delay we won't make the reservation and will end up eating somewhere else. I don't want to cash in the points if there is a chance that I'll end up with a gift card that can't be used at all.
