Well we're back and it was a success...well my surprise was a success....The fact that I didn't strangle the family that came is another story. This is what went down. Basically, I was at a dilemma, do I surprise her at the beginning or just before the renewal. Well, I thought long and hard, calculated the length of time it would take for our family to drive us crazy, because I wanted to time it so we could have time to ourselves before we went crazy.......that was the first day. No seriously, the first day. Well I was right and we needed the break. So this is what I did. Are you ready. I scheduled a carriage ride at the POR. Along with the carriage ride, I had a basket sent of our favorite wine, chocolate, and one Glass slipper for my Roozlilone. Yes, Roozlilone, (aka Jodi) is my wife. I came clean at the POR. She was totally surprised by ride and the basket. My cover on the other hand she knew that it was me, she just thought that I royally screwed up the surprise....again. Well I didn't, HA! The thing is I was so hoping she would respond to my thread, while I was writing it. I was hoping that it would create a sort of cool tension in the house... you know what I mean. Like Is he the rapscallion, should I say something to him, You know kinda like that movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith, with Brad and Angelina. But she was afraid that she would mess it up or something. I mean I was so blatantly obvious with the thread, big guy, military terminology, moron with no clue, lack of focus, I even used my name that I play with on Pirates of the Caribbean online.....yes, I play the game, I'm a Geek, but with a sense of style. Wait a sec. Roozlilone is showing me how to make a laughy symbol thing.
Well heck that was easy. See I told you I'm not that technical. Anyway, the surprise was romantic and great, see her trip report for her side of the story and pics. I have one last thing to say. Don't invite family!!!!! Keep it sweet and intimate. Men, if you must invite family bring some duck tape.. to tape your mouth and arms to your body so it will prevent you from choking family or saying something that you will regret eventhough you and your wife SOOOOOO badly want to say. for romantic surprises! She's a lucky women! And, i agree with the duck tape idea! our families spent a whole week with us!
Jodi is an absolute darling and deserves the time and effort you put into coming up with a wonderful surprise for her. I am so impressed and so happy for both of you!
