September 20th we finally arrive at my favorite place in the whole world...
The Grand Floridian Hotel!

We stayed at the ASM so I could justifiy staying at GF with an MK view the next 4 nights. This is what I look forward to all year! The view and sounds are everything to me..
I LOVE the monorail and the "Good Morning" show that I can hear from my cracked sliding door. I love the fog over the lagoon in the morning and I LOVE the fireworks, electric light parade and boat horns sounding off at all hours!!!


One problem.......
This was my view when I arrived in my room...

To make a long story short we asked to be moved and this was the end result.....
Needless to say I was THRILLED!!!!!!!!

Ok...keep it comin'....We're heading to GF in 23 days 14 hours.....BUT who's counting??? Looks great - did you thoroughly enjoy your stay?

Beautiful pictures especially your theme park view I'm so glad they were able to accomodate you when you asked to move.
Your children are close in age with mine...any tips to keep them busy on the plane ride? This will be their first flight (originally we were going to drive however we got such good rates from southwest we couldn't pass on it) and I'm concerned how they will sit for 3 hours
When you originally booked your tpv did you put in a request for a certain building? My TA says she put on ours Conch or Sago...I'm really hoping for a view like yours and we are checking in early since we'll be on property the night before (CSR GF was booked ).

Would you mind telling me what buildings your yucky view and awesome view rooms were - and what category of room you reserved? I was about to send off my room request and I may want to revise it....

My kids are usually pretty good flying but the problem is the delays!! You can only expect them to be good for so long, ya know. We do coloring, DVD players and tons and tons of snacks and food! We just keep feeding them!

At first we were in Boca Chica on the end and we were moved to Conch Key.

We reserved MK view!

No GG Illuminations. We wanted to do that but it was not available during our stay. The safari GG was nice. We met at Flights of Wonder where we "gathered" after a little talk we were escorted straight to our safari mobiles! The safari was more personal and seemed to last a bit longer. The time of day was nice and the animals were beautiful as always. Afterwards we went for dinner and the food was great! It was a buffet with African flare but a lot of variety! Everything was yummy. Then the kids were able to visit with Rafiki and Timone and there was also a snake and a spider they could look at. We liked it all very much.



More pix to come but for now I am resting...Caught the kids crummy cold! Sorry!

Safari sounds great. I can't wait to try that GG out. Sorry about the cold...I'm right there with you. I sound like a boogar when I talk and I have 0 energy. I'll be glad when this one finally runs it's course. Can't wait to read more!
