my perfect DDP for 09

Cost: $39.99 per night

1 TS meal:
1 non alcoholic, non specialty beverage + 1 entree
or a buffet (includes non alcoholic, non specialty beverage)
Gratuity included

1 CS meal:
1 non alcoholic, non specialty beverage
1 entree + 1 side
or 1 combo meal

3 Snacks (current snack listing acceptable - most single serve items of less than $4)

I haven't read any further, but I am in love with this plan. I think this may even work out for our family - this is how we tour and eat. :thumbsup2

Since we are talking about our perfect plan, I would like to keep the Deluxe Plan the way it is but add the gratuity in. I can only wish!

Well, c'mon, have some imagination, eh? The "perfect" plan would be only 18% the cost of the current plan, with the entire amount going to the servers. Right? :)

Not the OP here, but I'd pay $50 pp per day - what I'd prefer is just the 2007 plan for that price though. 1 TS with drink, appy, entree, dessert and tip included (I like the idea of mark your own tip!), 1 CS with drink, meal, dessert included, and 1 snack.

I could definitely take the OP's suggestion, though, also and I'd be willing to pay $50.

I'd pay $50 for that. I am one of those who would rather just pay a bit more and get what I always got than play we'll knock off a dollar and give you way less. Of course I feel that way about ice cream (most is now 1.5 quarts rather than a half gallon) paper towel (55 sheets where I used to get 100), etc.!

There have been two ideas in this thread that I really like. One is having a choice between appetizer and dessert. The other is removing the dessert from the CS meal and adding an additional snack credit. I could go either way on the tip - I'm just going to charge it to the room anyway, so it isn't all that much less convenient for me not to have the tip included. I'm sure they'd add enough to the cost of the plan to cover the tip, so financially it's going to be a wash unless you're ordering the most expensive items from the most expensive restaurants. But I'm sure the only changes are going to be for the worst, so I'm not holding out much hope for the improvements I want. More likely Disney will remove the desserts and NOT add extra snacks.

I think I am in the minority here but I hate the idea of the appetizer/dessert choice. I think it would just bog down the restaurants as much as the 07 plan did but yet we are still getting less. Also I think it would be way confusing for waitstaff and patrons alike.

I would like the plan with 2 meal credits... these can be either used for TS (app, entree, and dessert) or CS (entree/combo and dessert) much like the DDP does. Also 2 snacks per person. I would leave off the mug (I think it's odd to me that you are getting something that is a set price but paying for it on a "per night basis") and just let people buy that if they want. It might be cool if you could pick that as an "add on" like you can do the wine package... but for a set price... and then you would be given them when you check in.

All gratuities included - price of about $55 (between regular and deluxe).

I still like the choice of appie or dessert but would not mind your idea with these changes ITS with appie & dessrt and 1 cs meal with dessert, tip included and 1 or 2 SC for about $45 - $48 .

and leave a number of Disney restaurants half full - and then who knows what action Disney execs would take to make things profitable?

"Better the devil you know" is my thought.

We've seen people turned away at Le Cellier & Les Chefs de France many times pre-DDP. The popular restaurants were always busy. DDP may have helped the less popular places, but who knows? Not me! I'm not personally privy to that info. ;)
