my passport experience

I went to Hamilton Passport office today after 3pm that was the only time i could get into the city. By the time i got parking and got inside it was 3:30 I was given a ticket # by the person at the door with my wait. (*it was about 2/3 full but closer to 1/2) I told him that i did my application on line. He then gave me a different ticket beginning with E. I went to sit down and reviewed my application. I look up and my number was called(not even 5 minutes) . I did get alot of dirty looks from the people sitting there.

So if you go, do the on line app and let them know when you get in that you did the on line. I was in and out in 25 min. Including 2 applications and child applicatin. They said i should have it in 15 working days....

passports have been received in 8 business days, i could not believe how quickly i received them!

I agree. I had the same experience at the North York office with my online application. I waited about 30 minutes in the prescreening line when the office opened and was in the processing room for about 2 minutes before getting called.

complete your application on line then you need to print it. Just make sure when you print it, it looks like the example they give you. You then use your printed application take to your guarantor and phots to sign. Then take the normal documents. The big difference, is that everything is already typed into the computer so they can pull your file, copy your id and get you through quickly.

Also, if you have a passport now, that was issued after Jan 2003(check the site for exact specifics) you don't need to get it notorized. The girl told me that in the future, my renewal, i won;t need any documents, just fill the form and i won't hav to show proof or notoroized. that might be in effect now if you have a passport that has recently expired or will soon... check the site for details....

Were you able to fill out the Child application online? The only one I need to renew right now is my 4 year old DD as her original passport was only good for 3 years and she got it when she was 1. It is actually pretty funny she has changed alot in 3 years.
When I looked online it said the online form was only available to people 16 and over.

i think you are out of luck with childs because you cannot do that on line. If you have an adult and child, you can then use the on line lines at passport and they will then take all the applications. I had mind, DH and DD. Mine and hubby had on line DD did not, they processed all 3..
