my partners card has been cloned!!!!!

woke up this morning to a letter saying we are over drawn at bank. the account is only used as a spare account thank god for buying goods when out and about.
rang the bank, and was told that we had been in london on the 10th 11th 12th aug.
the transaction was for a vehicle release. in other words clamping. two different charges. £120 westminister inner london, and 2x £80 for out-london.

partner went to london in beginning of may to see his beloved football team and used his card to buy DS a spurs stripe.

cant believe it. bank investigating.and sending letters ???? does anyone know what happens next.

You'll probably get a phone call from the bank's security basically just to check you hadn't lent your card to someone etc. Following this you'll get a questionaire to fill out and your money should be refunded. (yep! I've been "done" in the past ).

thing is we go on holiday on friday to spain. man said letter could take 7-10 days to come out.

gonna be worrying about it now! waiting for man to ring regarding faxing letters from my local bank to head office. i hope its ok. want it sorted...

The card will be have to be cancelled and you will be issued a new one, by the sounds of it is a debit card? so i'm not sure how they are going to solve that.

I had my CC attempted to be cloaned but fortunately the provider sussed straight away and sorted it out for me.

I hope you get it sorted out soon.

we just got back from bank. all letters signed and card chopped up by bank. had to ring police station for crime report number date name of officer. these have now been faxed to main fraud office at nat west.

must wait now up to 14 days, to recieve money + charges back. the fraud team will then investigate the company in question to see if they hold any records on the transaction. eg recorded conversation, cctv or any online details etc etc.

Due to the Fraud Act 2006 the initial investigation is now upto the banks etc and they will probably not persue the smaller frauds!
