They were able to get gas and they are getting out while they can. They live on the west side, north of Tampa. I'm glad they are leaving, but worried nonetheless!

My Father and his wife are on their way out again! This is their third evaucation.

They live in Sebring Fl and are "live abords" (They live full time in thier motor home) so at least they can take the house with them, but it's still not fun! They spent all summer touring out west so they really haven't settled into one place since May.

They do head out early since they are retired and the motor home needs fuel to move.

to all leaving...and those who need to stay...

Glad to see people leaving early and not waiting for an evacuation order!! Prayers and pixie dust to all!! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/17/17_1_10.gif' alt='Prayer' border=0></a> :wizard:

Glad to hear people are already leaving. I keep praying that this storm fizzles out or at least stays clear of FL.

Unbelievable...these poor people.

At least your folks are getting out now while they can and it's not harried. I'm hopeful that them and anyone else in Florida or wherever this monster storm hits is safe.

I also hope everyone planning trips for next week are safe as well. We'll be down at the end of October.

Good luck to everyone who decides to leave Florida ahead of Ivan. I think it is the wise thing to do.

Just listened to the press conference for Indian River County online. 80% of FPL customers in IRC are still without power, and the distribution centers for ice, water, and MREs are closing tonight. They are being redeployed to areas that need them more! HELLO?? What are the old people in Indian River County supposed to do? DH's aunt, aged 85, was discharged from the hospital this morning and her condo still has no power. She is going to stay with a friend who also is still dark. The stress is really starting to get to her.

We were going to leave for Vero tomorrow morning but are staying in NH until the Ivan situation is more definite. At least the press conferences twice per day give us accurate information.

Glad they are leaving and will be safe and sound! Good thoughts for all the people in Florida!

I'm so glad that people are leaving early. We left Florida last Thursday night and traffic was HORRENDOUS!!!!!!!! It was really a scary situation!

I can't imagine having to go through that over and over again. I really sympathize with those who are being continually upheaved and endangered by these crazy hurricanes.

Last trip my Dad took some of his neighbors with him. I have not heard who is on the evacuation trip this time.

I know he is worried about Gas for that monster he drives!

We stayed through Charley and Frances, DW and DD are in NY coming back Sunday night -

I'm guessing we'll stay for Ivan, too - as long as he's not a Cat 5 - then I'm outta here!
