My Pal Mickey

I was reading about My Pal Mickey the talking stuffed animal thing to take to the parks that will talk to you... I was thinking about getting one of these for my daughter... Can you get them anywhere else besides WDW - What do they cost? Are they worth it? My daughter will be 4 at the time of our trip...

I got one (the latest version, Sorceror Mickey) off eBay for around $45 shipped for my 4.5yo (and her 1.5yo sister, but she won't likely be too interested!). My understanding is they are $65+tax at the Park.

We were at WDW last May (2006) and my then 2.5 year old son flipped when he saw it so he got a Pal Mickey. I think it was about $65 and he held it, played the games (to the best of his ability) and generally just laughed at things Mickey said. We got it at the Saratoga Springs Resort store. We'll be heading back to WDW May 08 and we'll be putting new batteries in and hope he works again- otherwise we'll most likely be buying a new one (or a second as my kids will be 5 and 3 and they'll fight if they don't each have one).

We got one and they are definitely worth it they are very informative and are useful when getting in and around the parks.

We bought one of the very first ones in 2004 for ds. He loved it the whole time we were there. When we got home he played with it a few times and then it got lost in his toy box. I found it a few months ago, it had a melted lolly pop or hard candy on it. I cleaned it and it looked just like it did the day we bought it and ds has not put it down. It still works, I even bought some outfits off of ebay for his, then dd began playing with it and the sibling rivalry began! lol. I told dd that we would buy her one when we arrived at our hotel and she was ok with that. I bought her an outfit for hers and she wanted to put it on ds's pm, and again the fighting began. So I went ahead and bought her the pm with the tuxedo and it arrived yesterday! She loves it! Now ds wants one with the tuxedo, but I may wait and purchase the sorcerer pm for him when we get to WDW. It is a great investment for the kids. I think the outfits are great and it keeps the pm interesting to them longer. I called the resort we were staying in and they said that in October, there will be a Santa outfit sold for pm. I will definitely buy that outfit for both ds and dd's pm.

Pal Mickey is even great for the ride to WDW, he tells jokes and keeps the kids occupied during a long van ride or flight. HTH.

Well, I'm glad so far the posts have been positive for My Pal Mickey- we love ours too and he'll probably be joining us on this trip. We bought ours in 2004 as well- have they changed since then?

2004 was the 'original' correct (I believe 'version 2' came out 5/05)? If so, a few changes have been made - the most significant from a user perspective is a louder speaking voice. He also has some new games, songs, and jokes. The latest, Sorceror Pal Mickey, is actually version 3.0.

I just bought 2 PMs (sorcerer's apprentice outfit) for DD8 and DD6 from ebay for $40 each with free shipping. The girls dont know we are going to Disney yet so thats how we are going to tell them the surprise. Hand them PM at the airport and say we are going to visit Mickey's house! I cant wait!!!!

Disney's Character Premier store in the Orlando Outlet mall sells the Pal Mickey's from years past at a discounted rate.

I bid on one on ebay, my youngest will just love him. They are so darn expensive though..

We haven't actually bought one ourselves but I have heard that they are great for occupying your child when you have to wait in line for a ride. I've definitely seen more than a few happy children holding them in the parks.

I have one from 2005. My 17 mo. DGD loves it. I read you can get it updated or reset or something with the latest info. Are the new ones different enough to be worth a new purchase?
