First of all we were at Disney World from 10/2 to 10/6 staying at POR. We had a great time on the free dining and visted EPCOT and MK while we were there. It was me (32), dh(34), dd(6), and ds(4).

Thank you so much to all of you for your Tinkerbell gift ideas. I had never done that before and it was a huge hit in our household! My kids woke up every moring to see what Tink had left them and were surprised to find something they would need each day (a new towel or hat or shirt). And they loved getting fairy kisses while they were sleeping and seeing them in the morning on their cheeks. It was really cute!

Thank you for the ideas about the Mickey gifts I read here about. I bought plastic containers and loaded them with crayons, markers, coloring books, notebook, magnadoodles, Disney pens, gum, snacks, a Disney wallet with money, a M & M tube of quarters and pennies for the pressed penny machines and glow necklaces and bracelets. Then put a note on them from Mickey and left them in the car the night before we left. My kids had new things to look at and play with on the trip. And the pressed pennies were so much fun! They make great souvenirs and the machines are fun to look for around the parks and resorts. The glow stuff was a big hit, we brought them out at dark and my kids never asked for the expensive Disney stuff! :cool1: Great ideas!!

EPCOT was pretty crowded the day we went, but we had gotten all the rides done early in the day and didn't want to attempt anymore with the long waits. So we headed to World Showcase for the afternoon and worked on the kidcot masks. This was SO MUCH FUN!! I highly recommend this! These are my favorite souvenirs! Plus, my kids think it is so cool that they talked to people from 11 diiferent countries in one day!

My childhood dream finally came true thanks to these boards! After waiting for 26 years of Disney trips, I got to ride in the front of the monorail! WooHoo!! :rotfl:
I never knew that all you had to do was ask. We rode from the TTC to EPCOT one night after dinner. It was so cool! I think I was more excited than my kids.

In innoventions you can make these little plastic robots to take home and this was really fun! I recommend doing this too! We found so many great (free!) souvenirs from reading these boards. Thanks guys!

If you are eating at the castle on your anniversary or honeymoon, make sure you tell them. They give you a really great gift! And we got a magical moments certificate to go with it!

The dining plan...I have been thinking about this since we got home. Would I do it again if I had to pay for it? It was definately a great deal! It would've cost us $360 if we'd paid, but we ate $700 worth of food. But we spent so much time eating and I missed the spontaneity of our previous trips. But it was so nice to be able to order what you feel like eating and not look at the prices. We just had to bring spending money with us and that's it. So I think I would pay for it next time, but I'd do things differently. First, I wouldn't go at such a busy time that all the meals had to have ADRs. Then we could be spontaneous like we like. Second, I would do more TS as lunches instead of dinners, especially on our days off. This would free up our evenings to go DTD or do whatever we felt like or stay in the pool a few hours longer.

The fireworks...we got to see the fireworks from different places this year and I loved that. Seeing them from MK on Main Street is great, but so is seeing them from the Contemporary and from the Polynesian beach. And I loved the boat parade! So cute!!

Autograph books...I admit I have never gotten into this before, but we made our own autograph books before we left and had so much fun getting character's autographs. We will definately bring these each time we go. These are a great souvenir. (And I got to meet Buzz Lightyear, whom I have a huge crush on! :rolleyes1 )

Well, I think that's it. I'll be posting my dining reviews later today. We had a great time and got to do a lot of great things we've never done before thanks to these boards and the dining plan. And the souvenirs we got like the masks, pennies, robots are so much better than anything we've ever bought because they've got great memories attached to them. Thanks again for all of your great ideas and advice. I can't wait to start planning for next year! Jennifer

I haven't seen the idea for the fairy kisses on cheeks. What exactly did you do for that? I think my dd3 would love something like that! :flower:

I found some really fine body glitter from Walmart it's really cute, in the kids department for like 88 cents. (I'm going to save it for tooth fairy vists as well! If my dd's tooth ever falls out!) And I had some glitter gel from ballet recitals. And I just put a little dab on their cheeks (lower part away from their eyes) and then put the fairy dust on top of the gel. If they flopped around in the night some was rubbed off, so you could probably do it in the morning if you are up first. I also sprinkled the dust around their Tinkerbell gift on the table. They totally believed, it was so cute!! They wore their fairy kisses around each day proudly. I even overheard them telling kids at the playground about it. :flower:

There was a lot of pixie dust around obviously.

This thread is what all parents aspire to in some form or other when they visit despite the age of their kids, and even if they have no kids.

I am d-2 days and waiting, so hope for something similar in our trip....just one...its alway happened before !!! and my kids are 16 & 11/12 LOL
