my nikon d40x wont power on...help

I just took a pic the other day, nothing wrong at all. did everything fine!!

Today went to use it....notjhing. thought oh its a dead battery. Came back to the hotel room ( staying downtown chicago overnight) and charged BOTH batteries and nothing. I am devastated. Someone...please help.

Ummm....I'm not sure what to tell you. Is the battery installed correctly? Otherwise, take it to a camera store in Chicago. I know there are several Ritz/Wolf camera shops in the Loop area of downtown.

yah battery can only go one way in...no mistaking it. I didnt take it to a camera shop up there in case its a have to send it away or keep for a few days thing since we dont like ANYwhere near there....1 hour south/80miles is to far with the gas prices.
