Well I didn't make out as well with my toys. It wasn't bad, probably about what I would have garage saled them for...however, I found them to be kind of picky about what they would take toywise. I had a brand new fisher price little people airplane. It was a duplicate toy my kids received, they opened it but didn't really play with it. It comes with 3 figures and a piece of luggage....however the plane seats 4. The woman told me I was missing a piece and she couldn't buy it. I told her that it was the complete set, if you notice all little people vehicles like that have a seat that's unoccupied, they want you to buy expansion little people and they need somewhere to sit...our little people school bus is the same way, but I digress.....
Anyway, out of 2 totes of toys they took 6 items and a few books and I made $33. So in 2 trips I made about $80. It was still worth it for me, but I won't bother with toys anymore.
As I was browsing the store I heard the owner say nobody was really buying anything yet and that she hoped that more word of mouth would start bringing customers in. They are getting nothing but sellers...I was paid in $5's and singles today.
I was checking out the prices on some things and they are way too expensive for my taste. They had used strollers that sell new for $40 and they were priced at $27. Also a 5 year old aquarium wonder swing priced for $95, I have that swing, I think it may have retailed $120, but I don't remember. My dad works for fisher price so anything I want he just buys me with his generous employee discount.
So my enthusiasm has waned from my first post. However, if you have one of these stores within a reasonable drive it may be worth checking out. After reading all your replies I'm motivated to have a garage sale, even though I hate garage sales. I've been going through all my mounds of stuff, I might as well try to make some cash before donating it all.
