My New Cars Still Broken!!!

..can you believe it my brand new car is still broken and the garage has had it nearly a week!

basically they cant get the part, they have been telling me all week the it will be with them the next day, so today I showed up at the garage to be told its on back order and it could be a MONTH!!!!!

I am so mad I cant describe it!

I have only had the car two weeks and they have had it back a week of that.

I really dont know what I am meant to do now, totally lost but totally angry

Under the Sale of Goods Act you should be entitled to a new car, it shouldn't have gone so seriously wrong within such a short space of time ie fit for the purpose it was sold!
BTW what is it?

I agree with Claire - I think you should get a new car

I don't blame you for being angry and upset. If it was me I would tell them to stuff the car, ask for a refund and go and get another one somewhere else!

read the act, does seem that I have the right to reject or rather dad does s its still in his name

I am going in now with my brother in law (as dads in saudi) to see whats happening, hes and accountant (manager) and talks finace and law etc all the time so should know what to do,plus he has the ability to act for my dad in his absence

Hope you manage to get it sorted, it's such a pain to be with out a car.

At the very least I'd insist on a loan car, if they say they don't have one then tell them you will be quite happy with the Sales Managers car, that should get things moving

Well, it might be a pain but, whichever way you look at it, you still get to have a new car in the end and you did say, earlier, that you got a courtesy car

I know when anything happens to our car there are never any courtesy cars to be had as I only have a license for an automatic

i suppose i did

they had no choice but to give me a courtesy car as a new car shouldnt fault and they could either replace it straight away or have to provide the likeness of it for me to drive

I know how you are feeling I had my brand new car (6 weeks old) (first car too) written off on 29th March in a head on crash with a lad who lost control and ended up swapping carriageways. I don't have a courtesy car so am feeling the loss of it even more.

I am going to get a brand new replacement car as soon as the paperwork is sorted which is excellent.

So though it is frustrating I am sure things will get sorted out for you soon.

Surely your insurance company must provide you with a courtesy car if you were not at fault?
