My nephew is in BIG trouble!

My sister called today in a panic (ok it is funny bear with me) My nephew is almost 11 and stays at my mom's after school. He is not suppose to answer the phone because 1 mom screens her calls and 2 he is notoriously bad at taking messages...sooooooooo


Today he answered the phone...person on phone says they are calling about a sweepstakes and you have one a family 4 pack of disney tickets (they live in Florida)...Shawn gets excited and DOESN'T WRITE THE NUMBER DOWN...

He called my sister at work (my mom is outside) to tell her what he did and managed to remember 7 numbers that eerily resemble my sisters work number LMAO

So now they are hoping for email or another phone call but I think they might be out of luck...oh mom is going to be so mad

Now in Shawn's defense who gives KIDS that kind of info???

It's probably a bogus timeshare prize. I get emails all the time telling me I've won a Disney vacation.

Well you could tell her that unless she was entered into a contest it was probably not a "win"...
Now if she was waiting on a call about a contest then she would know who it was, right???
That would be my defense, lol.

I am SURE that was some sort of scam or timeshare deal, if she REALLY won something they would contact her by mail as well.

Unfortunately, I get phone calls like that from time to time. It's usually an automated call, and it's always been about time share deals.

I got a call like that one night too, they said I had won tickets to Disneyworld. I said great, send them to me, and hung up, didn't wait for a answer. For some unknown reason, I'm still waiting for my tickets. LOL

I get that call a couple times a week. They only call during the day, so they leave a message on the machine. I don't enter contests, so I know it's phony.

My mom got a call about winning a car or $20k. They really convinced her that she entered a contest somewhere and was in a small pool of potential winners. A few weeks later, they called me. I kept telling them I didn't enter any contests, and insisted that they tell me how they got my name. Finally the guy put me to a supervisor and I told him "you called my mother, and she's still waiting for her d*** car, now who are you and what are you selling?" It was a timeshare. But they don't even tell the guys that call you that.
