I have some neighbors about two houses down that are on my 'Neighborwatch', but it's not as peculiar as your situation. I'm pretty sure my neighbors are drug dealers.

My neighbor decided to start building an Ark today at 7 am. Right at 7 am, I hear this hand sawing..then the power saw. He's about 5 feet from my bedroom window. So..here I sit at 7:23 am, listening to Noah follow the voices in his head.
Knowing my neighbor, around 9:45 tonight, it'll be time to cut the lawn. I swear he's nuts.

I have a weird neighbour but nothing like this. My neighbour just vacuums his lawn for 8 to 9 hours during the seeding season. We have a maple tree and the maple keys get on his lawn as well as ours. After he vacuums he then takes his lawn mower over the lawn to get up any that he has missed. That only takes about 2 to 3 hours. That is after he vacuums. I like your story though better. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Would it be easier to just pull any seedlings that might occur later? Or is he afraid he's going to wake up one morning with 5000 fully grown maple trees in his front yard?

Why we are all waiting for the answers to whats in the bag and youtube footage I thought Id share my strange neighbor stories.

When I was a kid we lived in a neighborhhood and we had a new neighbor move in and he was just queer. And I mean queer on both fronts. He mowed his lawn in little speedos and black socks and dress shoes. Nothing more, nothing less. And mind you its a neighborhood so the yards arent big. He kept roosters, a horse and a few other assorteds in his back yard. We never needed an alarm clock and it was always quite fragrant. Blech! We eventually moved but he is still there some 20+ years later!

When Dh and I moved into our current house we were dazzled by this blue hued light glowing from the upper floor of our neighbors windows across the street. I was so convinced it was alien related. Little green men and all that! Dh finally figured out after a few evenings of this that they have a tanning bed and thats what all the show was.

Well here's an update...

I'm sorry I didn't update last night, but between the swollen fingers, prednisone and pain pills I couldn't type. I think my steroid shots from yesterday and the prednisone pills kicked in today. I am feeling semi-human again. Lupus sucks. I am lucky though this is the first major flare in 8 years or so.

Last night the cops were there. They pulled in knocked on the door and the 3 men (dad & sons) were in the front yard presenting what I assume were driver's licenses. I assume the mom was not home as she was not in the front yard.

The cop remained there for 20-30 minutes and appeared to write a ticket before leaving. The whole thing was weird. I mean why would the cops just show up and write a ticket? No one was arrested.

DH was gone and I couldn't navigate the front porch steps to sit out there and listen. I couldn't hear from in the house. I did make dd10 open the front windows, but I still couldn't hear.

Someone asked about the drop off. We have seen it happen in the morning and the evening, but on different days. It is seemingly random.

So now we have weird drop offs and cops. It's crazy around here!

What a fantastic mystery! Why would the cops go to their house, write them a ticket, and not arrest them? Animal neglect? Unlicensed vehicles? (I'm obviously no expert on criminal activity or breaking the law, so help me out with any sort of activity that would fall into a category like this.) Weird. Keep us updated with the goings on today!
