all the kids are on their way back to college..including mine, :sad1: Hopefully some of my DS friends surface today...only 2 years until they all go away too!

yeah, this time( DD is entering her Junior year) it is especially rough on me as I had to stay back to tend to my ill mom, usually my DH, DS and I go to Sarasota with DD so it is sort of chaotic and fun. This time, I am left behind( well, DS stayed back too) and miss her loads already. Sigh....I know she is thrlled to be back tho, be with all her close friends and has a tough year ahead academically so guess it is all coming into play. Driving back from ther airport alone.....hurt. Well, the 115 day countdown until we see her at Christmas starts now!

DS just left for his senior year in college and I had tears in my eyes again as he drove away. You would think I'd be used to it by now! He is my second to go through college. It just always tugs at my heart.

It was a somewhat stressful summer here and it was really nice having him around. He had an internship (which was part of the stress), we got to go to lunch a few times together which gave us a chance to talk about LOTS of things. We have gone through some huge emotional events together and it just makes the bond stronger.

But, of course, I am glad that he is off to go back to college. I know, mixed emotions. I'm a mom - sue me :lmao:

Hey Pam!

Can you believe they are all Jr's - we got DS moved to a house 2 weeks ago. He had been in a student Apt. and he wanted to room with 2 girls he met in the dorms his Freshman year. We went on the house hunt and found a great one directly across the street from the Student Union. The final roomie arrived Monday and they all love it.

Sorry you didn't get to go with DD this year.

Yesterday was dorm move in day, we drove by on our way to DD's school for Uniforms and it brought back all the Freshman angst I remember so vividly.
Giddy wide eyed kids, anxious Dads and Moms trying desperately to hold it together and stacks and stacks of empty boxes of all sorts, shapes and colors......Cardboard for miles!

HI!!!!!!! Your post made me smile. the theme from 3's Company popped into my head immediately! I know, I am so happy she is 1/2 way there, but also know that with a need for an internship next year we will barely see her next summer and then...who knows? My tie was cut short with DD as I had to tend to my mom, si I am torn, and exhausted. DH will handle things I know, it is just SO HARD!!!!!!!
