My neice is there now, asking about best place to view fireworks in MK

Behind the castle, on the bridge next to SDMT. Most of the fireworks go off from the beasts castle.....you can still see tink fly out of cinderellas castle. No crowd! There wasn't anyone within 10 feet of me in may when we did this.

We went last year and my sister said you get just as good view standing at the top end of Main Street away from the castle, out of the crowds :-)

Thanks, I'll tell her. I know my little Great Niece would love to see Tink!

This is great! May I share it with my niece on facebook? That's how we are conversing!

That's one of Robo's maps, and I'm pretty sure that you can link to it from a public website.

I've watched in the green area a number of times. You get the full effect of the show and can see Tink. it's definitely the spot to be in!

ETA: This is the direct link to the map, which you should be able to share on FB easily.

Personally I've had problems being by the speedway or behind the castle. Debris from the fireworks hitting my head and my eye. The winds are to blame. Never had an issue when in front of the castle.
We like the bridge from the hub to Tomorrowland and Tink will fly right over weather permitting.

You can't see the Celebrate the Magic show from behind the castle, though.

How early should you get to the green area? I assume there is still a walking path for people you're not allowed to block.. Everyone will be standing there too right?

We were passing through the area behind the castle and a lot of people there didn't realize that some fireworks go off from Cinderella Castle and some go off behind Beast's Castle, so they ended up whipping their heads back and forth trying to see everything.

I overheard one of the CMs working at Aloha Isle saying that the best place to see the fireworks is from the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. Can't confirm that though we did see Wreck-it Ralph wreck the castle from up there. We had a pretty good view near the exit from BTMRR though, again, you can't see the castle from there.

There is a roped off walking area that stretches from the sidewalk in front of Casey's to the sidewalk in front of the ice cream shop. Honestly, if you get there too early, you'll be pushed forward into the orange area that isn't as ideal. This may not be a popular answer, but we've always walked up with about 10 to 15 minutes to go until the show. They keep squeezing people in, so if you get there too early, you'll either be asked to move forward or will be pushed forward naturally.

I've always done just fine right in the middle of main st anywhere. While the parade is sort of nuts the way people crowd up onto the curbs, and requires early diligence to get a good spot, once the parade is over theres really no shortage of space right in the middle of the street.

Pretty much anywhere you get a straight on clean unobstructed view of thecastle and the fireworks show above it. Pretty sure main st is more or less where the imagineers intended us to watch the fireworks anyway (not that they aren't perfectly seeable from many other places/angles)

This! Fireworks aren't a huge priority for us but we usually catch Wishes at some point every trip. I always felt like we needed to stake our spot well in advance (which you do need to do if you want to watch the parade). We've always watched in the general area of the edge of the hub by the bridge to adventureland or near Casey's (but not the Main St. side). I always wanted to watch them from the middle of Main St. but had this vision that I'd need to claim my spot along the curb hours before the fireworks. Last June we had a late night planned at MK that didn't include watching Wishes. We sort of watched them from behind the castle as we walked around (did not like that view) and then watched the 11:00 MSEP from the porch of Pecos Bill's. Later that week we were returning to Magic Kingdom during the early MSEP (poor planning on our part) with the intention of riding some rides -- this still wasn't going to be our "Wishes" night). We were in the Main St. Emporium as the parade was ending and I noticed that the curbs were really emptying -- a lot of people were leaving. So those of us who wanted to watch Wishes that night grabbed a spot on the curb to wait. There was plenty of space around us. About 5 minutes before the castle projection show started, we stood up and moved to the middle of Main Street to watch the show. Still a lot of space around us -- not even close to "touching" anyone. And people were spread out far enough that even my 4' 10" daughter could see 90% of the projection show & 100% of the fireworks. We could also see Tink fly. When the fireworks were over, we were near the front of the pack for the mad dash to the buses (though we weren't in any hurry). If I ever decide to watch Wishes again, I'll do the same thing -- hang out in a gift shop during the parade and then move to Main Street for the fireworks. My SIL said that's what she does every time they go.

So, if I come out of a shop just before the fireworks I won't be pushing past anyone to stand in the middle of the street? I don't want to be THAT rude person. Also, if there are two Celebrate the Magics, one before and one after the fireworks, which one should I watch? After the first Celebrate is it harder to get in position for fireworks than before Celebrate?

Thanks.

Also, does anyone want to take a picture of the crowds for me in the green area? I really want to make sure I'm not being too pushy in a crowd. Thanks!

You're not necessarily pushed forward. I was towards the hub for the parade, and as the parade ended I walked against the crowd to the green area. I got in the middle of the street and stood my ground, I did move to the side to let scooters/strollers through, but got right back in my spot afterwards.
