So, my sister's daughter is in school at Le Cordon Bleu to become a pastry chef. She's one of the top of her class, and representatives from Disney came up last week to interview her. They called her back this week and let her know she's been accepted to work at Disney. At some point next year, after she finishes school, your Disney dessert may be made by her. :yay:

That is SOOOOOO Awesome! Congrats to her! She must be so excited and proud! :thumbsup2

Congratulations! :cheer2: How could you not love a pastry chef, especially a Disney pastry chef? :cloud9:

Congrats!!! If I had a relative who worked at Disney, I would just use it as an excuse to go more often.... :)

Thanks everyone! Yeah, the whole family is excited. We're going to Disney next month, and we weren't planning on returning until they finished Fantasy Land. But, I'll probably have to make a trip down there next year while she's there!

Never had a family member work at Disney. My dad considered it after retirement. They typically get season's passes about every other year and go a bunch with the pass. But, they're having too much fun travelling than going back to work, even at Disney!

How exciting for her!! Huge congrats are in order.

My niece just finished the Disney College Program this week. It was a dream come true for her and she plans to return again when she graduates.

If you don't mind my asking, what school (and where) did she go? DH is considering a career change once I finish my doctorate, and this sounds like a pretty good school. He would absolutely die to be able to work for Disney doing something he loved!

Here's the school website: http://www.chefs.edu/Atlanta . I'm not sure how the process went to get her the interview with Disney was though.

1) Congrats.
2) One of our daughters graduated from culinary school in pastry.
3) She spent an internship at WDW making desserts.
4) She really enjoyed it.
5) She just wished she could have been able to use her creativity more.
6) In most cases, she followed the preset formula and pattern.

To show her excitement, here's her latest Facebook post:

"Is it sad that I am already picking out stuff for my room at Disney?"

She's going down next April! I posted to her telling her about some of the DIS'ers here that have every dinner and every ride they're going on planned out in that amount of time! :rotfl:

Aw, tell her congrats! :goodvibes

I audtioned to be a dancer/character last April, and I know Disney doesn't take just anyone! She must be amazing at what she does. :worship:
