and I'm a compulsive, excessive, no will powered eater. I need and want to lose about 30 pounds. as I said before, I have almost no will power. please help me!
 
Hi, Wagamama! Welcome to WISH.

Grab yourself the WISH member clipart (instructions are in a sticky thread,) and settle in. We've got all kinds of folks here, the only requirement is that you want to get healthier! Lots of folks are doing Atkins, lots of us are Weight Watchers, some exercise, some don't, some have lots to lose, some just a little... something for everybody!

A good place to start might be to introduce yourself on the WISH Family Album thread!

Welcome! I also have no willpower..but I just decided that I need to do this for my health..so that I can be around to see my girls get married and hold ny grandchildren in my arms. Since my girls are only 10,13 and 15 I need to be around a long time yet. Since October I have been experiencing some bad health problems and it took until now for me to realize I need help!
I joined Weight Watchers and I'm so surprised that after 1 1/2 weeks I'm still doing it. I start all kinds of diets and usually stop by the 3rd day. My kids and my friends are helping me stick to it. DH isn't all that supportive, but I expected that. (he thinks it's stupid for me to pay money for someone to tell me how to eat, I informed him it's more for the support I DON"T get at home. That shut him up!) I popped over to the WISH after my first weigh in and I just had to let everyone know I lost 5 pounds...the reaction was great. I know you post on the CB a lot and you'll see a lot of the same names so it feels like "home" here.

Did you know your username spelled backward is Amamagaw? Both ways sound pretty cool! See what dieting does to you- you start going a little loopy drooling over those next bump up clippies! Welcome to this great group of losers- some bigger losers than others but all losers just the same.
Glad to meet you and pick a way of eating (WOE) you like and get out there and MOVE those muscles! :) Can't wait to see your new clippies!!!

Welcome to WISH Wagamama! I know exactly what you mean about willpower! I have a lack of it myself, so you are not alone. There are lots of new WISHer's here, including me. I am taking it one day (and sometimes one minute!) at a time. So far I have lost 7 pounds in two weeks. I know this can be overwhelming, but maybe you could start small, with baby steps. Maybe you could just start with one goal, like starting an exercise program, instead of trying a bunch of new things (changing your eating entirely, drinking the gallons of water your supposed to, etc) all at once. Also, I find the people on this board to be a tremendous support and resource. So, I would suggest visiting here often, as I think the support has made all of the difference in the world to me. We are all here for you!

I've been coming to this board for a couple of weeks now and it's been great for me. I've starting walking more and eating better. It helps to see others losing weight because it encourages me to do the same. I've also learned some great tips here as well as gain some great support. Welcome to WISH and the nicest bunch of losers you could ever hope to meet. Will you be following a formal eating plan or just making healthy choices? If you have no willpower a formal plan will probably work better for you.

There are lots of weight watchers here and lots of controlled carbohydrate eaters. Just about every dieting discipline is represented here on WISH.

I am following the Atkins nutritional plan. Doing pretty well (if you don't count February ;) ) I've lost 32.5 pounds since 1/9 and over 10 pounds since taking the challenge.

You are a great addition to our support group, I'm so glad you decided to join us :)
