My name is Texas Crude, and I like FP+

I'm with you! I love that I already know what I'll be able to ride. I guess I'm not being entirely

...fair, I got to take advantage of the glitch. It really does seem like it'll be so much less stress. In my opinion there are just too many people who would like to take this vacation and can't for me to complain. Who knows though, I guess it could be horrible and I'll be with everybody who hates it, don't really think so though.

As someone mentioned earlier, it's only going to get better for here. I honestly think most of the complaints will be moot once it's fully implemented, with the possible exception of "I used to get 4 fast passes per day, now I only get 3!!! Never again!!!"

I've actually always been there for rope drops, and will continue to do so, but it will be nice being able to save some headliners for the afternoons when I'd otherwise be doing the shows and Tom Sawyers island. I also liked a previous posters idea about doing Early Magic hours at one park, and hopping to use your fast Passes somewhere else once it starts to get busy.

We used FP+ in December and had a wonderful vacation, just as good as any other trip we've ever had in the past. :thumbsup2

I like FP+. And I get a warm fuzzy feeling every time I log into Disney's site and look at my itinerary. It's so pretty!

We used FP+ back in November and had the best trip ever. No rushing to Toy Story, no yelling at the hubs to wake up early for rope drop, and it worked great for DH with the Roller Coasters since I don't ride. I like it! I think once the kinks are all worked out it'll be great. It does help that I'm a freak of a planner too. :)

Through all the negativity in these threads this was a shining light because it was an honest answer. I haven't tried it yet and I know from the top that even though they limit me to 3, the sixty days in advanced thing, and there are more rides/tiering, nothing else is THAT different and I might end up liking it

We're here now, and FP+ has worked out well, which I'm a little shocked at. When Pirates went down this afternoon, we thought that we'd have missed out on that FP+, but the system sent us an email to let us know that we could pick 1 out of 5 attraction FP+ as compensation. We had the rest of the day to pick one. Pretty cool.

Another thing I wanted to mention... FP+ really synergizes well with rider swap!

I booked a single fast pass on SM for myself, after which my wife and DD5 will be able to walk to the front with their swap ticket. Immediately after, DW and DD5 have FP+ for Thunder Mountain after which I can go with DD5 again.

Same thing with Speedway... I'll use a single FP+ to ride with my DD2 (we also have a 1 year old that wont be riding) after which my wife and DD5 can use the rider swap pass. In the end, we all essentially fast pass that ride for one FP+ reservation

you could do that with FP- as well.

I too am looking forward to the new FP+. My brother is traveling with us and it will be nice to know he will get to ride all the good rides. I am also glad to not have to run around gathering fastpasses.:)

It was a pain with FP-, since you were at the mercy of when the return times happened to be when you went to pull your pass. Now you can plan it into your whole schedule seamlessly.

I am looking forward to it. With 5 kids, and me the keeper of all the passes, this will be a welcome change for me. We can make rope drop if we want or not. Schedule our FP+ for later in the day.

True, but you would have to do more running around to get those paper FP's, without knowing when the return times were going to end up by the time you got to the FP machines. I agree with the OP that being able to preschedule this (with rider swap in mind), and how it works with FP+, is better than the old system.

...but I'm still in favor of the old system at this point. Hopefully things will improve further and I'll favor FP+.

The thing that is the biggest issue for me is the tiering, :sad2::mad: especially at Epcot. We're not huge Epcot fans, so we typically only spend one day, and sometimes as little as 1/2 day there during our stay. With the new FP+ system, if we want to ride Soarin and Test Track on the same day, without waiting in standby for a LONG time, the only option is to be there early at rope drop. You hit whichever you don't have FP+ for first thing. So the abiltiy to book FP+'s for later in the day does nothing to help sleep in at Epcot (or HS)

I also can't stand the idea that you can't get more FP's for the same ride once you done it once that day. We used to be able to ride Soarin AT LEAST twice with FP-'s, and sometimes 3 times in one day. That is no longer a possibility. Ride it once with FP+, then it's standby with a LONG line. Boo:mad:

Same goes for TSM at HS.

This is actually one of the bigger points that was a problem with FP-. Often I would go look at the FP kiosk, but find that there was no point in pulling the pass because the return time was in conflict with something else I had planned. Then I'd just have to leave it and figure something out. FP+ does not have that problem. It's not perfect, but this, at least, is one advantage over the old way.

After reading all the negatives about FP+ it was good to see some posting positive feedback. I think my best strategy for not getting so frustrated will be to schedule FP+ as best as I can when my window opens up. If the times don't work out and I can't reschedule on the first try.....will just resort to standing in lines the old fashioned way. This will be a pain since our trip is in June, but a vacation is suppose to be fun.

:thumbsup2 It is staggering how many people aren't grasping this. Or perhaps the number of people who like to ride both Soarin' and Test Track (or TSM and RnR) in the same day is smaller than I suspect. But the number of "now I can arrive at DHS later in the day without having to get up at RD" responses has me  As my wife said when I first explained this system to her..."Sounds like this system is great for people who only want to do one thing per day. Otherwise, you still have to arrive early." Of course, the math does support the idea of tiering, so perhaps the solution is to require tiering for the first three pre-booked FP+s, and then, if park attendance (or FP+ distribution) warrants, after 2:00 p.m., additional FPs could be acquired without restrictions as to tiers or repeats. If the ride can handle more people, and people haven't gotten their FPs by 2:00, then open up the flood gates (and let the super-users have their fun).

There, I said it. There's been so much negativity about the new system, that I thought it be good to create a "safe environment" for those who enjoy the changes.

Go on, it's okay to like changes. I'm going with my family of 5 at the end of April and already know that we can ride Toy Story Mania in the afternoon, even if my 4 year old sleeps in super late after staying up for the 9pm Wishes show. How cool is that?!?!

I'm going to be able to walk onto ETwB without using up 45 minutes of our valuable morning touring time! We can reserve some great rides in the afternoon when we typically do the crappy rides / shows because of the waits... Previously we'd have to hope that we timed the FP- just right to get a 3:00 slot (which would often mean an otherwise unnecessary trip to tomorrow land late enough that the morning time slots were gone, but early enough that it wasn't pushed out to 7:00pm) that doesn't interfere with our ADR!

My name is Texas Crude, and I like FP+!!!

Such a nice Wreck-it Ralph feel to that post! :)

"I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me."

But anyway. . . I agree with what you are saying. I have used the system twice now for a week each time and we have had only good experiences with it so far. What I really liked about it was the day in. . . we get in the parks about 1 after our flights and I can get on long line rides the first day or get my kids off to see a long lined princess meet and greet her first day.

So. . . Hi I'm Jim and I don't mind FP+, and that's not bad.

I'm happy for you. If that's how you feel, then that's great.

But if you really wanted to keep this thread a safe haven, then you probably shouldn't be snarky and imply that people who don't like FP+ are just afraid of change.

I didn't take that away from the OP.

I'm being cautiously optimistic about our upcoming trip in May. I won't lie, the idea of not having to rush for TSM FPs is heavenly. I do like the idea of being able to slot some rides in the afternoon and not having to worry about waits, etc.
