My Name Is Peter & I'm A Disney-holic

Three years ago I was a regular, boring guy. Then my DW introduced me to the life of Disney. Since then I've become totally obsessed with that darn place. My addiction has grown to include the Disney Cruise Line as well. I've been to many places in the world and enjoyed almost all of them. However, since that first trip to Disney it seems that everything is now measured against The Mouse. Our Christmas trip to New York City last year was nice but I found myself saying "It's just not Disney". Las Vegas in July was nice but "just not Disney". Now, our August trip to Disney was "just like Disney" (probably because it was Disney).

Am I the only one who feels this way ? What is it about Disney that makes you feel this way. It's almost like getting sucked into a cult - but a good cult. I swear they put something in those Mickey Ice Cream Bars !

The secret ingredient in the Mickey Bars is a rare and little known element called Dismickonium. After the first bite, you want more and more, and have to come back to the World to get it! ;)

Welcome to the club, Peter. I've kicked smoking and binge drinking, but I don't think this addiction is going away for quite some time.

We live in PA. We used to love the Jersey shore. However, after our last five trips to Disney, we have also caught the "it's just not Disney" flu. We are all hopelessly ill. No cure has been found - except to visit Mickey.

I thought Rockefeller Center in NY was owned by Disney, or is it not anymore?

Hi Peter. My name is Al and Kate's Mom, and I am also a Disney-holic. I have passed my addiction on to my daughter, and do not feel the least bit guilty about it :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi
I'm a member. Been to Cancun, Grand Canyon, and I love the Jersey shore, but there is nothing like Disney. My family thinks there is something wrong with me!!

Hi Peter (everyone all together). My name is Lauren and I am a Disney addict. Nothing else measures up...

I have compared all our vacations to WDW. No place has or will beat Disney! I have fallen in love with all things Disney! Disney really is magical!

I think EVERYONE is a Disney addict. It spoilts any other holiday you could possibly take. I compare EVERYTHING to DIsney now - theme parks too. They're just hideous in comparison.

I've also passed my addiction onto my "You'll-Never-Get-Me-To-Disneyworld" father in law, and hopefully will pass it on to my daughter. I need an excuse to go back :rotfl2:

Well one of the first signs of a problem is being here on the WDW Addiction Boards ... I mean DIS Boards!! :sunny:

Yes, I have "the problem" too ...

DH and I have the same Disney Addiction, and we love it. We are also addicted to Disney Cruise Line. Plus, it's not just us, our 2 married children and their families, and just about 35 other family members have the addiction too. Not to mention our addiction to the Disboards. It's all so much fun, we never want to be cured.

I'm in too!! I have definitely passed the gene onto my DD5 princess: and DS3 pirate: as well. Their rooms are totally Disney-fied!!!
My DH, well, he's coming around. For our first trip this past Jan it was, "I"ll enjoy seeing you and the kids have such a great time". Now we're planning another trip for this April!!! His bug though is catching by way of the Disney pins. He's loving collecting them.
My husband says when I die, I'm going to come back as the "Queen of Disney"!! :yay: :yay:

Psstttt.....Peter ......Welcome to the Club....DVC Club. Just remember the first rule of DVC is we don't talk about DVC....you know that big secret and all..... :rotfl2:

Yes it is an addiction but doesn't it make you feel good when that friend or co worker comes over to you and says "I am thinking about going to WDW...." and you are considered the expert.

There's nothing else I'd rather be addicted to. I've been to all kinds of places. all over Airizona, our nations capitol, been to Europe twice; I've even been to Cape Cod and been to the Kennedy compound for a bbq with the rich and snobby and still nothing compares to my beloved Disney.

Hi, my name is Nicki and I am a Disneyholic. We go to the Bahamas for vacations and Jersey Shore and Boston for family trips but WDW is the best ever, nothing else like it. Thank goodness we live 3 hours away so we can get a fix in no time!

Hi Peter my name is Ruthie (standing proudly with ears on) and I am a 52 y/o official Disneyaddict too...in fact this addiction started L o n g before there was a WDW...back to when I watched the original MM Club and then my dear Dad told me to "get those dam* ears off at the dinner table" :rotfl2:

Thankfully it is genetic and I have passed the MM dna (it's true its mouse shaped on the DNA chain) to my youngest dd and my dgrandson...ok granted it skips some family members.

I have vacationed no where else since 1985 and only occassionally will venture to PA Amish country when I need a weekend of quiet.

You think you're addicted now? Wait until you start decorating your house a la mouse :lmao:

Welcome to the club, there's a great group here

Count me in. My 19month DD kisses the TV whenever Mickey is on. We are all addicted. My DD7,DS5, DH and MIL. We count the days until our next trip. 71 days and counting. At work people just don't understand. They come to me for questions about Disney, but when I say I'm going back they say "Not Again". Some people just don't get it. I'm sure glad I do!

I don't have and addiction! I can stop anytime I want to...I just don't want to...
