My Name Is NOT Broccoli!

We're thinking of doing a Chef Mickey Day with the little cousins, so I am betting I will finally make a couple of those purchases that have been on hold. We were going to do it at spring break, but since Bella's party is the first part of April, I think I'll see if they'd like to do that in June. I'm going to try to find some cheap little chef hats and let them make their own pizzas, salads, and desserts. Don't you think that would be a fun Disney kids' day?

It sounds like fun for Disney kids and Disney adults. Be sure to take a lot of pictures, so we can all share in the Chief Mickey fun.

I looked at mother of the bride dresses today. We are back home now after finding nothing that I wanted to try on.
We might try again tomorrow.
If it's not icy.

Love the updates!! Makes me very excited for our trip in July...and about our first time at POP.
Too funny about the potato head and parts..i'm sure it happens more than we think!
I hope you are staying warm...we are between 0 and 10 degrees most days here with snow the last two days all day...hoping to get a little warm up next week but not keeping my hopes up!

so i don't mean to be rude but i have to ask, what did brooklynn think of the little person CM? did she even notice?

She actually said nothing about him this time. This is the third time we have had this particular CM at Character Connection. Twice with Mickey and once with Minnie. I have to say when we were standing in line last summer and he was the handler for Mickey I got really nervous as we got closer to the front. Brooklynn interacts with lots of different people on a daily basis - different races, sizes, genders, and disabilities. One of the things I love about the school I work at is we have therapists on staff so that children with autism, down syndrome or other disabilities can be included in the classroom with typical children. When Brooklynn was 16 months old she had a little boy in her class with Down syndrome and she was the child in class that helped him. She never shied away from him because he couldn't walk or talk and he licked her all the time. She would patiently get his chair at the table and guide him to it or help him reach a book that was too high for him. However, she has never been around a little person so I was very nervous of what she might blurt out at almost 4 years old. I'm sure he has heard lots of different comments, but I didn't want my kid to be one of them. She said nothing as we passed by him and as we continued through Character Connection she just kept going. I thought she just really didn't notice until we walked back outside. She looked at me and asked "Was that a grown up?" I told her yes, he was and she said "He did not take naps when he was little!" I had to laugh because it has been a longstanding story with Carter and Presley's mommy that Brooklynn is giant because she sleeps at nap time. She has told her kids on numerous occasions that when you sleep you grow and when you stay awake you shrink. That is why Brooklynn is so much taller than they are because she takes a nap at school. So in my daughter's mind he didn't take naps and that caused him to shrink to her size.

In October she said nothing about it at all. He talked to her about Lola the cow and where she lived and then it was time to go see Mickey!

That is so funny about the naps.

Just wait, one day, she will innocently ask him if he takes naps. It probably will come when you least expect it. :rotfl2:

Hmmmm, I wonder if I stopped taking naps....
Oh forget it. I don't need to be shorter. Just thinner.

Great Epcot morning! I love rope drop for these reasons, too! So nice at that time of day. We love the Seas.... DS5 adores that starfish at the end.... I remember being on the ride last summer first thing, and for whatever reason he wasn't there -- DS5 was disappointed, and he asked the CM where the starfish was, and she said he must still be sleeping, I'll go wake him up! ;) We rode it again later in the day, and sure enough he was there chatting... DS5 can say his lines so well -- makes me laugh every time! The girls and the characters, are ADORABLE! So fun to see the big sis holding the hand of Bella -- the skeptic! Very cute. There is so much to explore in that pavillion!

I just got caught up with the case of the renegade spud, btw, and that was also a funny tale..

Maybe that's why I am so short. :rotfl2:

I am trying to catch up on my naps now but I have a feeling instead of taller I am just getting wider.:confused3 :lmao:

Let's see, I have several things to say:

1. I enjoyed the video of Lilly. I hope I get to see her again soon!

2. I think I heard that the genetic condition of "sticky fingers" skips a generation- right Jill? ;)

3. I see that you moved your math activity to later in the school year, so I'll keep sending you things. (If you want them!)

4. I just love the way children's minds work! The nap comment was priceless!:goodvibes

Will do. I hope we can find a Saturday that suits everyone. It will be something fun to look forward to as we wait for our July trip.

My weather people say you are sending your ice to us Tuesday.

Don't go out dress shopping until it's safe. The broken bones you might get from slipping on the ice could make it hard to put a pretty dress on.

Our temperatures are rising a little. Just a little, but better than they were. Our former highs are now our lows, and we are seeing hopes of 40's this week, which will be awesome!

I really hope you like Pop. :hippie:

Now I remember that comment, but our trips tend to meld one into another sometimes, so I didn't remember when that was.

If naps make me taller, I need to not take them.
If naps make me thinner, I need to take a bunch.
What to do? What to do?

Nemo is a favorite with us. I am thinking of doing my welcome bulletin board in Nemo next year. I was thinking about that for some reason yesterday after I was looking at all theose pictures.

Bella likes to do things on her own terms. We'll see what her character greeting terms are in another five weeks. :goodvibes

Maybe that's why I am so short.

I am trying to catch up on my naps now but I have a feeling instead of taller I am just getting wider.

Me, too, and that's annoying. As soon as this weather breaks, I am going to try some walking again. All these snow days have found me cooking and munching more.

Let's see, I have several things to say:

1. I enjoyed the video of Lilly. I hope I get to see her again soon!

Yes, if you want to send more, we'll take them. Thanks for going to the effort. The kids are going to love shopping!

I love to listen to kids converse. Their take on things is so simple, so enlightening, and so funny.

I hope the Disney computer information system doesn't have some big star by my name that says - Watch out! Thief!

************************************

My computer has put me on notice. It has shut completely off twice, and it took three tries to start it this morning. I better go find a new one after church this morning. I hope I can get one on a payment plan, maybe with no interest. :goodvibes

I sure do have a lot of payment plans. :upsidedow

Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone!

Oh, good luck finding a new computer, MeMom. That stinks!

I had the music from the Nemo ride playing in the back of my mind this morning while I was looking at your pictures!

Like Wigd said, you are the ringleader of the AWESOME teachers' club here on the DIS. :goodvibes

Good luck finding a computer, MeMom. I hope there are some good deals out there. Of all the "luxuries" in life we can live without, DISing is not one of them! :scared1:

:rotfl2: the nap comment. Adorable!

Great news about Carter! I loved hearing there's a happy ending for him.
Doctors are amazing! :thumbsup2

It was so cute to see Bella in the Character pics with Brooklynn.
I knew she would come around in time.

The story about "naps" is so funny.
Both my kids are tall so I guess they both loved taking naps.....:rotfl:

Good luck finding a laptop today.....it will be so much fun unpacking and setting it up.
A fresh new one to DIS away with!
You must get a new one....we would really miss you if your old one quit for good and you couldn't DIS anymore.

I can't tell you how nice the new one I got is. It's so fast.

I found a Disney netpal after I bought this one. ....:upsidedow
I'm thinking of getting it for Lexi for her birthday.
She would love it because it has fun Disney touches build in.

I was trying to not overdue it because she is getting the surprize trip to NYC for her birthday....but it's calling to me....buy me...you know you want to....:lmao:

I ordered a NYC tote bag for the reveal and it came in the mail this week.
I'm going to sneak it into the hotel room the morning of her birthday with balloons. The card will read "your going to NYC today...let's see what you can find to fill up this bag!"

What do you think?

I think I may be just as excitted as she will be.

She knows there will be a surprize but she doesn't know what.

Happy Sunday!

P.S. I think you are a fantastic teacher! Your kids are very lucky to have you!
If I won a million dollars I would be gone in an instant too!

To tell you the truth I missed that he was a LP until you started talking about it! Gosh I miss my LP shows. Glad Brooklyn was fine with it! :goodvibes

Aw Bella is getting used to posing with the characters. I noticed how she is usually standing not too close to them but she leaned in & gave a hug.:goodvibes. That is so cute that Brooklynn takes her hand.

Great Nemo pics:thumbsup2. I just love looking at all the fish in the tanks. I could spend lots of time in there.

MeMom it sounds like you are a wonderful teacher. You care about your students & your classroom & always think about different ideas for your room & students. Do not sell yourself short. There are many of us out there that would stop working if we won the lottery. That does not mean we do not care about our work. I do not think I will win it as I usually do not play it.:rotfl:

We had to buy a new computer a few months ago. We ended up buying an HP & I love it. What a difference!! Good luck with the purchase.

Oh no, MeMom! Hope you can solve the computer problem!

Nuts about the computer, but I agree, I bet you'll be able to find a deal!

Hello.
It's me....
MeMom. :wave2:
Thought I should make sure you knew that,
since you might not recognize me

coming

from

a

new computer! :woohoo:

I have added Best Buy to the list of people who own my financial soul.
Luckily, I did get a no interest plan, and I'll have it paid off before the time is up.
I should be good for some intense DISing for a good long while now. :)

I like being in on your Disney surprise fun. :cool1:

If any of us hits it big, like $256 million or something, we should really check into making DIStown a reality. :thumbsup2

Hmmmm what do we do for that...I need that too!

To tell you the truth I missed that he was a LP until you started talking about it! Gosh I miss my LP shows. Glad Brooklyn was fine with it!

I used to watch that faithfully, but after a while, they let perceived 'stardom' go to their heads, it seemed. The kids got mouthy, and the parents got dramatic. I did enjoy it, but I think it was time for it to end. Maybe they'll do better without the cameras around.

I put my one dollar in every Monday and leave it all up to God. ;) If He wants me to win, I have my one little ticket in the pot. I can justify a dollar a week. I do know of a teacher who puts hundreds into it, though, and that is just beyond me. She could have had so much in savings. I'm satisfied with my one that I throw into the group purchase.

It would be so cool to have that ocean stuff in my classroom. One of those video screens where they could answer questions - that they would love!

We will see how Bella does with characters in five weeks! :dance3:
Five weeks from today, we'll be in Hollywood Studios.
