My Name Is NOT Broccoli!

Happy New Year!! :wizard:

Are you able to share the link for the webcam? Would be fun to see some WDW New Years fireworks! :)

Hope you all have a fun and safe evening!!

Oh MeMom, your love for your family just shines through the computer in the way you write about them. Though your kitty is happy now (mine would be the same way!), I hope they get to come back and see you soon. :)

Could you also FB me the link for the webcam? I'd love to check it out too. :)

Hi friends! I have the day off work today, so I've been doing some DISing and in a short while I'll go watch some movies and pop popcorn. :thumbsup2

I will keep you posted about our July trip; we hit a bit of a snag. Not a huge deal - but a gal that I work with were both asking for the same week off work. It's not a huge deal if we're both gone at the same time, but it just makes it harder on our co-workers and so we want to avoid that if possible. She was going to talk to her husband tonight about their plans and then we'll talk next week. I told her we hadn't booked anything yet (besides the OHana dinner) so I am flexible. So now, we are looking at a Plan B. I'll talk to my sister and brother this week and see what they want to do. We can't go the last part of June or the last part of July, so it's either earlier in June, or come right after 4th of July. But I'll for sure keep you and Anita posted - thanks, friend!! :wizard:

Memom, just wanted to drop by and say Happy New Year. I too would like the link for the web cam. I am going to stay up and watch them. You can send it to my facebook or pm me here. Thanks so much.

Your stories about the girls playing around your house and Bella's sweet phrases make me teary-eyed. My little boys are growing so fast and I will miss all those same little things. Right now, Blake is making potato heads. He got a potato head set from Santa that has Buzz, Woody, Jessie and Mr. Potato Head parts. So, now we have more parts than imaginable. He likes them (so does Mommy) and that is all that matters. I hope you get to see the girls soon. I know you really miss them. I am going to really work on Jason today. I have an itinerary written out for WDW in March. It includes just enough non-Disney activities to make him happy. I am crossing my fingers. I will let you know.

Happy New Year!! (just in case I do not get back on) Cooper wants to have a party tonight that includes peanut butter sandwiches, chips, birthday cake (Blake's idea), and crackers.

Our cousin, Brandy, says she would like to go with just her husband one of thesed days, but that she would have to mix in some other stuff for him to go for it. She said it'll be another few years before she can even think about it, since she's due with Baby #3 in April. She said he goes to WDW for the boys, but he'd rather go to Las Vegas or somewhere for adults only. Good luck with your persuasive speech. :thumbsup2

I hope you have a super New Year's party with peanut butter sandwiches and crackers and cake. You could cut the sandwiches into fun shapes, let the boys decorate the cake, and blow party whistles/blowers. Sounds like a wonderful, sweet time.

Its nearly 2pm UK time and we are about to get packed to visit some family for a New Years Celebration! So signing on to say Hi and "Happy New Year"! Much love & happiness for everyone in 2011. I know it will be a good year for me - we are FINALLY visiting Disney again!!!!!!!!

Julie xxx

Happy New Year! :dance3:
2011 will be exciting for you all. :wizard:

I'm so behind...I'll catch up in the new year!

Stay safe tonight!

Seeing those fireworks in person is the best. I hope you get to do that sometime. FB message me, and I'll send it to you.

I truly am blessed, and I loved the time we were able to spend together.

I am going to call and knock the last two days off of ours. We'll now be there from the morning of the 2nd to the night of the 7th instead of the 9th. That's still enough to do every park, and we'll add that October trip on as a consolation/bonus. :thumbsup2

That means we will change our 'Ohana ADR to the night of the 6th, when Anita and Marc arrive, so just let us know.

FB me so I wll remember. You will enjoy seeing it. I hope he keeps the volume up loud enough for us to hear the music. It was a little low last night.

Same to all of you. We hope this year holds amazing things for all of our family and friends.

Poolrat, just go ahead and plan on being there this time next year. We'll all bring munchies to share and blankets to spread out on Dave and Kathy's lawn. We might even bring some entertainment.

Happy New Year, MeMom, Jill and everyone! (Last night I told Charles about your enabling for next New Year's -- we were listening to Illuminations in the car on the way to his mom's -- you know, a little mood music  -- and he said if I can find the money for it, we can do it!)

:dance3: HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!:dance3:

I can't believe I fell asleep last night and missed the fireworks...:upsidedow

Count me in for the NYE POLY Meet next year. :woohoo:
I wonder how many of us we can round up?

I hope everyone will have a wonderful year ahead filled with lots of Disney Magic! :grouphug:

Did you watch the webcam last night? After having been there in real life, I really wanted to be back there last night. There's a real excitement in the air, the fireworks are unbelievable, and what better place to close out an old year and bring in a new one, right?!?!? :dance3: I won't even mind if our trip is a budget one either. Although we should have our AP's for the parks, we could actually stay with Trent for a couple of days and then move over to Pop for the last few. That would chop a lot of money off for us. We'll just have to see.

Now we have to work on Anita and everyone else to get down there that week. :thumbsup2

*******************************************

I finally got the Christmas pictures loaded. Here are a few moments from our holiday season.

If you recall, we were all going to be meeting at Jill's on Christmas Eve morning. Trent and Tanya drove all night. Drew and I were going to be there early. Things got changed when I woke up to a broken heating system. After an emergency visit from the repairman, who gave it a temporary fix, Drew and I were on the road and got to Jill's around lunchtime. It doesn't seem like so big of a deal now, but at the moment, I was stressing a bit about the pipes possibly freezing and the cat being here with no heat, and I was missing precious time with the family.

All was well, though, and we got to Jill's to have a wonderful day together.

The first miracle of Christmas was.....

Christmas2010001.jpg

that Drew actually was with us!

Where there are men, there are video games.

Christmas2010002.jpg

I took these awesome cookies that Happydog and her sweet boys had made for us.

Christmas2010004.jpg

That ear was eaten by a four year old. There was another green one, too. I don't remember who had eaten that one already.
The cookies did get there intact. I did not take one bite before I got there. ;)

There were presents under the tree

Christmas2010005.jpg

and stockings on the fireplace.

Christmas2010008.jpg

Trent and Tanya were exhausted after driving all night.

Christmas2010009.jpg

The girls decorated some cookies of their own.

Christmas2010016.jpg

It was done with great thought and care by Brooklynn, while Bella was happy just to slop things everywhere.

Christmas2010021.jpg

They had much fun making these.

Christmas2010027.jpg

You can see that they both liked the mini 'ems', as Bella calls them. :lovestruc

Jill had also made some goodies.

Christmas2010029.jpg

I had one or more of every one of those!

After a delicious dinner of lasagna and spaghetti, presents were opened.

Christmas2010033.jpg

Christmas2010034.jpg

Although my children were under orders no to buy me anything, Jill decided my luggage was so ratty that it embarrassed her, so she got me this.

Christmas2010036.jpg

And to top it off, she had a good suggestion as to where I could go with it.

Christmas2010037.jpg

That whole DVD set will be watched regularly! :cool1:

Drew got movies and lots of gift cards.

Christmas2010041.jpg

Tanya surprised Trent with a new Florida sweatshirt and tickets to the game in Tampa, which is today.

Christmas2010046.jpg

He was very surprised.

Trent got Tanya a new camera, which she had hinted that she wanted.

Christmas2010047.jpg

The girls got some new clothes.

Christmas2010050.jpg

Christmas2010052.jpg

Look at my sweet baby already planning our next Disney adventure!

Christmas2010051.jpg

After leaving Santa some goodies,

Christmas2010053.jpg

the girls were put to bed.

We all sat around and talked, and when we bothered to look up, we realized Santa had come and left many things for the girls.

Christmas2010054.jpg

Christmas2010055.jpg

Christmas2010056.jpg

Christmas2010057.jpg

And what better way to wake up on Christmas morning than to falling snow!

Christmas2010058.jpg

Santa time!

Christmas2010062.jpg

Christmas2010068.jpg

Looking outside from the front door.

Christmas2010079.jpg

One of Brooklynn's favorite presents was a large horse.

Christmas2010091.jpg

Jill and Trent prepared breakfast.

Christmas2010095.jpg

Christmas2010098.jpg

Then everyone bundled up to go out and play in the snow.

Christmas2010104.jpg

Christmas2010105.jpg

Christmas2010106.jpg

Christmas2010108.jpg

Christmas2010109.jpg

Christmas2010110.jpg

A very quick snowman was put together before they had to come in from the cold.

Christmas2010111.jpg

After two delicious meals - breakfast and then a chicken casserole lunch - and some hanging out just enjoying each other's company, we all loaded up to come to Tennessee for the second part of Christmas.

There was food at my house, too.
Jill brought some of her leftover homemade treats. That rocky road fudge was so good!

Christmas2010115.jpg

Christmas2010116.jpg

And more hanging out.

Christmas2010117.jpg

This is really a living room, but it was Trent's bedroom for years. Now it's a combination bedroom/hangout room, because I don't have a place to move that bed.

Christmas2010121.jpg

It looks like your family had a really Merry Christmas! The girls' new toys look like lots of fun. I bet they were excited to wake up and see what Santa had left them. I'm glad Drew was able to join too! :goodvibes

An Old Key West Christmas downstairs.

Christmas2010120.jpg

I wanted one picture with all of my kids and grandkids.
Drew was caught mid-cookie.

Christmas2010118.jpg

The girls opened presents from me and from Drew.

Christmas2010129.jpg

Christmas2010131.jpg

Jarvis arrived.

Christmas2010125.jpg

Brooklynn ran to him and said, "Jarvis, I missed you!"

The girls were excited about the basketball goal.

Christmas2010136.jpg

The guys putting it together.

Christmas2010137.jpg

Slam dunk!

Christmas2010141.jpg

We ate Sheperd's Pie that night, and then Trent, Tanya, and Jarvis headed off to Brandon's. He had had some sinus surgery a week before, so he was confined to home until the doctor released him on Monday.

The next morning's breakfast.

Christmas2010143.jpg

Jill and John went out to hit some sales, while some others put together a new Disney puzzle.

Christmas2010145.jpg

Christmas2010147.jpg

Brooklynn learning to spell with her new Boggle game.

Christmas2010148.jpg

Spencer and his wife-to-be came over in the afternoon.

Christmas2010149.jpg

That's when he announced his wedding date, which changed our summer trip. It's all working out nicely, though. We're chopping a couple of days off, and that makes it easier for us (the girls) to go back in October.

Jill and John went back home Sunday night, and the girls stayed here. We said tearful goodbyes to Bubby on Tuesday morning. The girls and I enjoyed our time together reading books, playing games, watching movies, playing basketball, etc. Jill and John came back to pick them up on Thursday afternoon.

Brandy, Carson, and Parker came to play.
Here are the kids having a snack break.

Christmas2010155.jpg

When they are around, there is much energy. They are into superheroes and wrestling. It's fun just to watch their imaginations at work. I love seeing all the little cousins together and hearing the big cousins talk together about the good old days when they were the ones running through this house.

After the girls went back home, things were quiet again here. Things will get back to normal for everyone on Monday morning. We will fill the year ahead of us with hopefully many more ups than downs and lots of fun and laughter and precious, precious memories. We'll gather together as many times as we can manage. Hopefully, we will cross paths with many of you this year, too. We will watch children grow. We will delight in our joys and support each other through trials and sad times. At the end of 2011, we will look back on all of the good times and bad times and know we are better and wiser from all of our experiences. We wish you all a beautiful, prosperous, healthy, and happy 2011! Thank you for your kindnesses and your friendships!
