My Name Is NOT Broccoli!

Hi everyone. Just popping in to say have a great weekend!

So who is going to be at the 5:30meet on the 26?

Hi There!

I know I'm a little late to the party, but I have really been enjoying your TR! I love reading reports featuring young kids now that I have a kiddo of my own. So many similar experiences! :cloud9:

I also love all the photos! I really need to get better about taking pictures, my TR is long on gab, sort on looks. I think its because I used to live in Florida and would make it down to the World for a weekend trip at least every other month. I didn't feel a lot of pressure to take photos, because I always knew I'd be back soon. Now that we are living in Virginia, its a lot longer between trips and I could use the photos to hold me over between visits.

I especially loved your photos from SSR! We are DVC and it is our home resort. I spent a lot of time walking those paths last Oct, unfortunately it was in the wee small hours of the morning with a cranky, teething boy, but SSR is just as lovely at 4 am as it is in the afternoon! :thumbsup2

Thanks for letting me join you for the ride!

Thank you so much for the pics of POFQ! You are the sweetest!
I am touched by your thoughtfulness.

It was just what I needed.

Lexi was so excitted to see the pool pic, she can't wait to slide into the pool.

I know it's only for a night but it will be a special treat.

Hope you have a lovely day with the girls today!
Was there a DisneyStore where you went?

Hi sunnystace , it's nice to have you back around.
I saw on a pp that we may get to meet in September. :thumbsup2
I hope I don't get too spoiled by POFQ....my budget is still a value one...

I am checking in today from the flu house. We had to postpone the birthday until next weekend because Cooper tested positive for the flu yesterday.
He is feeling much better, but our family is treating us like we have the plague.:lmao: My MIL brought stuff for the party to Knoxville and dropped it off at my BIL's house for us to pickup.:rotfl2: We are hanging out and watching POTC. I will send pics after next weekend.

I am putting in my request for a particular picture now.

I want a picture of MeMom hugging those palm trees at MCO. :lmao:

Have a great Saturday!

I will totally make that happen just for you!

Hurray!!! :woohoo::yay::banana:

It will make my day!

You two do know I can hear you, right? ;)

Lana, you will LOVE POFQ!! You won't want to go anywhere else after! Hope you feel better soon!

It's nice, and we had a great room location there and a wonderful stay. We want to try all the resorts, though. One of our cousins (just she and her husband) is going to be staying at French Quarter next week. I'm excited for them.

Great idea! And I'm sure MeMom will thank you for not requesting a photo of her smooching the floor tiles!

I think the tile mosaics are cool, though. I will probably have Jill post a picture on FB so everyone will know we have arrived. :thumbsup2

We are! :yay:
Maybe two more DIS families, but definitely us.

:rotfl2: As I was scolling through I was going to ask for that picture!!!!:rotfl2:

No surprise there.

We'll love having you along!

Sometimes I feel like I have taken the same picture about a dozen times, so I try to scoot to one side or another and get it from a different angle. Sometimes I see things I have never noticed before. Those give me much pleasure to photograph for the first time.

The pictures are such a great way to relive the trips. They bring be so much joy, especially being able to watch the girls grow up through them.

Brooklynn loved that slide. She wanted to go back to 'the dragon slide' the last time. We'll stay there again sometime so that she can enjoy that slide again.

No Disney Store anywhere around here. We have to got to Louisville, KY, or Memphis or Knoxville, or to Atlanta.

We're a value budget, too, but we sure do like trying the nicer ones when we get a chance. It is exciting to go a little fancier sometimes. A lot of our deluxe stays will be done as a couple of nights at the end of our Pop stays, I'm sure. Maybe one of these days when my house gets paid off, we can do a whole week at somewhere nice.

How did you guys find switching resorts for one or two nights? I tried doing a split stay between POFQ and POR a few years ago to keep my stays valid for free dining and it was a nightmare! This year though...since it's a big birthday I would really love to stay in a deluxe for that night or two but I don't think I can swing it for the entire stay!:goodvibes I'm looking at the Pop! Maybe POFQ if my tax return is good! And it will depend also on if it's a solo trip or not!

Jill you are going to have to be very sneaky to get those pics of your mom in the airport!
I want to see them too!

Woven into all that will hopefully be quick stops at Wilderness Lodge and Polynesian. Tanya has not seen WL, so I'd like to boat over there when she is with us. (Might need to do that Saturday evening and then do parade and fireworks the last night.)

If you end up going over to WL text me and see if I'm there. Chances are I'll be in a park, but it depends on the time. If it's Saturday night, I'll be at Chef Mickey's, eating yummy food :cloud9:

MeMom, I can't believe how many snow days you have had! I don't know exactly how many Kailyn and my mom have gotten, but I think they're approaching the end of their five "built in" snow days. With those days, they're already going until the end of June, and school can't go into July because of the teachers' contracts, so school administrators are discussing ideas to make up the days -- like a few weeks of going on Saturdays, or taking away either February or April vacation. I think it's pretty much all talk at this point, so who really knows what will happen. Kailyn doesn't care too much b/c she's getting out early regardless since she's a senior.

So exciting that you are leaving in just a couple of weeks! I love that you are staying at Pop since that's also our Disney "home" and I love seeing pictures from there!

I've heard the taking away Feb or April break rumor too :scared1: But not for us. We've only had one snow day

I don't know who all is coming for sure. Everybody who is coming to Magic Kingdom on the evening of the 26th (around 5:30, close to the front or possibly at the gates) or Small World on the 1st (around 9:30) - sign in! party:

My mom and I will be there on the 26th! I'd love to be there for the Small World meet, but I'll be back in the real world by then :sad2:

I'm about to start my PTR. This time, I promise I'll actually finish my TR. I didn't make it past day 3 on the last one :guilty:

Tomorrow is my 10 day mark! Monday I'm in single digits :dance3:

EDIT: Just started my PTR :) http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2656277

Hopefully he will feel all the way better next week and be able to enjoy it more. Had you already made the cake before you figured out you were postponing? Is it in the freezer now?

Hanging out having movie night sounds good. Hope the rest of you don't get the flu.

We did it from Pop to Wilderness Lodge, and it was no problem at all. It actually kind of helped. We were driving on that trip, so we went ahead and packed up everything but the last two days' worth of stuff and put it in the car. Packing what little was left on the last day to go home was easy.

I want to tack on two Boardwalk days for Jill on a future trip and two Poly days for me on another. We both want to stay at Beach Club, too. We'll have to take lots of trips to get all this done. ;)

Jill you are going to have to be very sneaky to get those pics of your mom in the airport!
I want to see them too!

I'm so excited about being in WDW and with Trent and in the warmth again that I plan to fully cooperate with a tree hugging picture. I've just got to find one big enough to hide me. :rolleyes1

We're planning on seeing you on the 26th. :thumbsup2 I'm at a loss now for who said they might be coming over from Epcot with no hoppers, but if they do, we can just meet right outside the MK gate over on the ticket booth side. If they don't (and I really apologize for not remembering, but there have been so many DISers who have said they are going to be there this time) then we'll meet inside Magic Kingdom up front - maybe upstairs at the train station, where there are seats? I'm pretty sure daisylove is coming on the 26th. :yay:

HI all!
Gosh 12 snow days is terrible.....we had 5 last year and the high school near us had school on Saturdays all through March and April. It was crazy. Can you imagine only have one day off for 5 weeks in a row???? I would go .:crazy2::crazy2::faint::crazy::crazy::faint:

Anyway, I hope it all works out. I loved your kiss the tiles and hug the palm trees idea. I havent been to Disney since Nov 2009 and I feel like I am finally coming home! I can't believe I am missing you guys by a few days. I have been sewing tee shirts for our surprise trip and Sarah still has no clue we are going...lol! My friend and her daughter are going with us...did you know that...and so we are thinking of surprising them in stages. They won't actually know we are going to disney and staying there until we get in line for ME. :dance3: And my other friend that sews too will be there with her family and her best friend is going too...it should be really fun. The best part is we are all staying at Kidani. :flower3: So those are the plans so far! Thanks for asking! I just can't wait for warmth!!!!!

You know you want to!

See, I knew you would want to play along!

Wanting to and being willing to for the sake of the fun of the report are two different thing.

Yes, I will find a palm tree at MCO, and if the security guards are not close enough that I fear them taking me away to the funny farm,
I will hug a tree,
or at least
high five with one of their palms. :upsidedow

I can't even imagine doing the Saturday thing here. So many of our high schoolers have jobs that they have to have to make it. I can see that causing a huge outrage here.

I have been so excited about your trip! :dance3: I can't wait to see the girls' expressions when they find out, and I know you're just going to have an awesome and very treasured time together. Staying at Kidani makes it just fabulous, too!

Yesterday, Jill and the girls came up, and we went out to Murfreesboro to a children's Discovery Center. I had heard of it, but had never been to it. It's a great place to spend time with your kids doing a wide variety of activities. I'd love to take my school kids there, but since it is out of the county, I don't know if they would let us go. I am going to check, though, because our kids would have a blast there.

We met stasieki and her girls there. They were going to a birthday party and would be meeting us out in the play area a little later.

Here are some pictures of our day.

The first stop was a big water play area.

February2011011.jpg

They stayed there for several minutes, and we had to talk them into going to explore the rest of the place.

We went around to Tiny Town.

Upon arriving at the Tiny Town Post Office, I knew which stamps I would be buying.

February2011012.jpg

I immediately thought of the Winnie the Pooh treehouse.

February2011013.jpg

February2011014.jpg

Bella thought it was funny to look through the holes on the treehouse balcony.

Some thoughts on child play.

Abby came out of the party and joined Brooklynn.

Rocking animals.

February2011026.jpg

Bella was a little unsure of these. She didn't try to do much rocking unless I was holding her.

February2011027.jpg

There was a dig site, but the rocks in it were not as good and clean as the ones in Dinoland.

February2011030.jpg

They enjoyed it, though.

February2011031.jpg

This fella was camped out by the dig site.

I would gladly hug a palm tree or kiss a tile (:worship:.....maybe not that one) to be at WDW now!

Someone please remind me in September that I made the right decision to cancel the spring trip..:)

It will be a nice feeling to know when we come home that we will only have 3 months until the NYE trip. :woohoo:

Hopefully the next 7 months will go by fast for us!

 ... for no Disney Store near you anymore.

I can't remember the last time I went to ours...3 hrs away....in Syracuse...:sad2:

If I didn't feel so crummy I would take a drive there today to cheer myself up. :upsidedow

I missed your pp...must have been typing.

Looks like a fun place to spend the day except for the snake....wasn't expecting that one! Eeeeek!
What a magical moment to find the Mickey stamps....amazing!
Who would have thought you would find anything Disney related there.

More wildlife.

February2011035.jpg

February2011036.jpg

February2011037.jpg

There was a grocery store with much produce. The kids could put it into bins at the market or run them along a conveyor belt.

February2011038.jpg

Tilework outside the bathrooms.

February2011039.jpg

A feathered friend.

February2011040.jpg

February2011041.jpg

It was interesting to watch how his eyelids closed upward.

February2011042.jpg

Abby showed Brooklynn the fun shadow room.

February2011043.jpg

They posed against the wall for ten seconds, then turned out the light to see their shadows.

February2011046.jpg

Then it was time for sliding.

Up they went.

February2011045.jpg

There was a big train set-up, but it stopped running right after we walked in. It only runs at certain times, and we caught it at the wrong time. My Disney brain was in Germany.

February2011047.jpg

I thought of all our little DIS boys at this stop. I bet they could have a big time fixing up this car.

Brooklynn serviced it for a while.

February2011049.jpg

February2011050.jpg

Uncle D would have gotten a kick out of seeing this.

February2011052.jpg

Instant Disney connection - It's Tough to be a Bug.

February2011053.jpg

Here you pushed a button to make air force these sponges up through the top of the tube.

February2011054.jpg

There was a robot chameleon.

February2011058.jpg

The girls walking with sticky pads like a fly does.

February2011059.jpg

A little bit of Animal Kingdom.

February2011057.jpg

February2011062.jpg

February2011060.jpg

A little bit of Epcot.

February2011061.jpg

Looking down from Africa.

February2011063.jpg

OOPS, sorry looks like my previous post was in between your update.

There was more fun times for the girls...glad there were more animals and not just the sssss.

A great place to explore and learn at the same time. :thumbsup2

Lexi came in and was looking at the pics and asked if this was at Disney...no silly girl!
Funny how great minds think alike...we always find comparisons to WDW in real life don't we.

The big ball was stuck in this, and the girls tried with all of their might to get it to start rolling.

February2011064.jpg

It never did get going, though.

A robotic fly.

February2011065.jpg

Learning about the word 'camouflage'.

February2011066.jpg

February2011067.jpg

More robotic action.

February2011068.jpg

They made his eyes spin a million different ways. :goodvibes

More sliding time.

February2011069.jpg

Getting to see and touch a gecko.

February2011070.jpg

February2011071.jpg

Curious George greeted guests for a special event.

February2011072.jpg

Outside, the girls had the chance to walk on water, sort of.

February2011073.jpg

It was a fun day, and I am really glad Kim suggested we come out there to meet them. I was brainstorming on the way home how we could have something like this. I'm thinking that besides that MIL apartment, we should have a HUGE basement to build our own Tiny Town and fun stations, and have our own party business.

It was so fun to meet up with you all. Abby had a blast and I can tell Ellie enjoyed all the new discoveries.

My last picture cracks me up. Abby isn't too adventurous (even though she has leaped across this before, she was scared). Brooklyn showed her how to do it. She is telling me she is going on Test Track. We will see in two weeks:cool1:

Memom and Jill - we really had a great time yesterday and appreciate you makign the trip down here. I know our time off work and with family is precious so am happy we were able to be a part of your day yesterday.
