Cornbread
The cornbread was great. I generally don't like sweet cornbread, but I love this stuff. It was sweet but not too sweet, and with a little butter it would just about melt in your mouth.
Salad w/Apple Vinagrette Dressing
The salad was just OK. It actually looks better and has more stuff in it (tomatoes, crutons, ect.) than Ohanas salad, but I liked Ohana much better. I just didn't really care for the Apple Vinagrette dressing, it was bland. Also the onions in the salad were very strong. Sorry about the picture, for some reason it's a little blurry.
All You Can Eat Skillet
My overall opinion on the skillet is, it was greasy. Even DH agreed that it was greasy. Nothing was really good on the skillet, not that it was all bad, but nothing was really good.
The shrimp wasn't good at all, it was very small, lower quality shrimp. I was expecting something about the size of Ohana but these were very small, they also still had the vein in them. They were in some kind of brown seasoning brine/broth that was good but the shrimp were very fishy.
The ribs were OK, the corn was good but it was greasy.
The mashed potatoes- OK this is the first-but not the last- time I'm going post this, I just don't understand this whole "leave the peel in the mashed taters" craze that seems to have took over not just at WDW but the whole country. I DON'T LIKE PEEL IN MY MASHED TATERS!!!! OK my rant over the taters is over.
Beans-The beans were just so-so, to me it tasted like they had a bunch of chili powder in them.
The chicken- I didn't try it but DH said it was good but greasy.
OK I'm starting a new paragraph to talk about the
pulled pork because I've got to give you a little background. My grandmother did most of the cooking for me and my sister. Neither her or my grandfather had any teeth, so when she would cook a beef roast or a pork roast she would pressure cook it so it would be tender. She would cook it down so much it would almost turn into a mush. When you put it in your mouth it would just fall apart and become grainy, a yucky texture. I tell you this to try to explain to you what the pulled pork was like. It was too tender. I know it's hard to believe something was too tender, but this was, and it was too tender in a bad way. The flavor was OK but the with the texture, I just couldn't enjoy it.
Overall Comments- It will probably be a long time before I do WCC for dinner. The food to me, is just not that good. We made the ADR thinking they had a shrimp dinner but they didn't, so DS ended up ordering the skillet so he could get shrimp. That turned out to be a big disappointment but probably ended up for the best because the shrimp was so bad. The service was decent, our server was somewhat into it but I don't really care much about all that. I care much more about drink refills and she did just fine with that.
