My Money Saving/Management Tip

This is personally what I did on my trip down May 30th-June5th to Disney....

I purchased a little ceramic piggy bank from the dollar store and kept it on my desk. Everyday I would empty all my spare change into it along with $1's in my wallet. When money wasn't really tight I would slip a $20, $10 or $5 in the pig and promise to not take it out.... it helped!! I saved a lot of money this way.

Before leaving we planned what we were going to do and roughly how much money we would be spending each day (hotel and passes paid in advance).

I labeled envelopes and organized them in the order of what we planned to do day 1-7. It worked wonderfully!! I only took out the envelope for that day and locked the others in the room safe. In addition to the $ set aside for specific things (like $35 for Blizzard Beach for example) I also planned to spend $20/day on random little things and food (other than big dinners already planned out).

I always had the ability to change using my room key but I did not use this and came home with money left over!!!!!

ps I'm really not anal but didn't want to have to worry about money down there!

I have done something similar and was able to save up
about $400 for souviners and snacks and "side" trips. LIke
the Titanic exhibit, or the NeverLand club for the kids.

DisneyGal358 that is exactly how we budget out our money for our trip. We did it last trip and it worked out great. We're doing it again this July.

We save all of our change and sometimes singles as a part of our 2 DD's college savings. We figure this will at least buys books, spending money etc..
