Fantasmic, the Wrong Bus and a Hotel Intruder!!! OMG:
While we cruised over to the Ticket and Transportation Center, I couldnt help but think how the Magic Kingdom really does feel like its own little world. The design of having to take the monorail or the ferry to the entrance is just ingenious! It truly does set it apart from the reality of daily life!
Anyway, we chose the bus that would take us to the Dolphin and then got on the boat headed to MGM Studios! We lucked out as we got down to the dock just in time. We hurried on board and were on our way. Our little one had fallen asleep, as it had already been quite a day for her. Besides her falling, everything had just been wonderful. I was grateful that she was getting a little rest, as I really wanted her awake for Fantasmic!
Our little one fast asleep.
Still snoozing after all that fun at the Magic Kingdom!
Once inside MGM, DH and I just took a moment to take it all in. The crowds there were much bigger than we had experienced all day at the Magic Kingdom so we decided we better head towards Fantasmic. We stopped at the counter service located across from the
Tower of Terror and grabbed a quick bite to eat. Our DD was still fast asleep so we ate without her. We figured we would just get her something to eat once she woke up. We learned that once she has fallen asleep it is much better to wait until she wakes up on her own. Otherwise, it may not be such a pretty site. Haha.
We made our way up the ramp towards Fantasmic and were directed to park our stroller. We must have been early enough as there were only a couple strollers parked there. DH gently picked up our little one and cuddled her close. She remained fast asleep. We found some great seats and settled in to people watch. The show was not scheduled to start for quite some time still. However, it didnt take long before our DD popped her head up and wanted to know where we were. The bruise on her cheek was quite noticeable now and I felt so bad that she had fallen. She reached out for me and I took her in my arms as DH went to find her some food. As I held her I couldnt help but think how blessed we were to have her in our lives and how thankful we were. I had dreamed of being a mommy for years and years and now we had been given the gift of raising this beautiful child. We had wished upon a star so many nights and let me tell you
dreams really do come true!!!
My husband soon returned with a Fantasmic glow-in-the dark lunch box. It had a crust-free peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a juice box and some carrots and raisins, I think. He also had picked up one of those spinning; light up toys for the little one to play with and brought back some cotton candy for me!!! He knows I love that stuff! What a sweetie!
Fantasmic was fantastic!!! You cant believe how much I loved that show. The effects were amazing and just truly incredible. The little one loved every minute of it too, although on some of the scarier moments she cuddled a little closer. It was just a great way to end the night, or so we thought.
Here are a few photos from Fantasmic.
As we excited the area, we decided to go see whether the
Festival of the Dancing Lights was still on. To our surprise, they were. As we rounded that first corner and heard the music and saw all the lights, I think we were all a little shocked. The feeling we got standing there is definitely hard to explain! It was just astonishing, totally mind-blowing. It truly got us in the spirit of Christmas and we wandered around there for quite some time. Our little one loved pointing out all the blinking lights and showing us which ones she thought were so pretty. We managed to capture a lot of it on video and took quite a few pictures as well. (I will post these pictures soon).
After the lights we thought we would go take a few pictures in front of the big Mickey hat. The little one was wide-awake and just ran around, happy as can be!
It was after 9pm now and my DH and I were pretty tired so we thought we would head back to the Dolphin. We were too late for the boat so we had to go find our bus. Well
this is where we erred! My DH (yes, it really was his idea) thought if we took this one bus that was just arriving we could get on it and take it to this other location and then get a bus from there to our hotel.

Well to make a LONG story short, we had no clue how the bus system really worked and what stops they all made. We ended up on way too many buses and after an hour and a half
yes, you read that correctly, one hour and a half later we finally reached the Dolphin!. Luckily our little one had snoozed earlier in the evening and was not as tired as my husband and I were becoming.
Here are a couple shots of the little one on our many bus rides that evening!
Here she is deciding which seat she wanted, before we took off.
Getting into the Fantasmic lunch box she got earlier in the evening to eat some more of her sandwich.
Still on the bus....notice some of the peanut butter and jelly on her face.
Face clean now, and still on a bus!!! LOL.
We walked into the lobby and past the gigantic Christmas tree stopping only at the elevator. We made it up to our floor and were in our room very quickly. As soon as we entered, DH went to use the bathroom and I started to get the little one ready for bed. That was when I noticed it. There on the table, between the two beds, was a handwritten note directed to someone by the name of
Melissa. None of us are named Melissa. It stated,
Melissa, was here in your room and I went to work out at 6:30. I found it very strange and immediately showed it to my husband. Initially he thought maybe it was a note left by housekeeping or just a note that had been left on the pad of paper. I quickly explained to him that no, it could not be the latter of the two. You see this note had been written on the exact same pad of paper that I had used just that morning, right before we left the room and headed off to the MK. I tore off the sheet I used to take with me and there was definitely no wording underneath it. This strange note was left right on the table, next to the pad of paper and the pen was on top of it. As far as housekeeping leaving the note, we both started to think that wasnt possible either. It just didnt make sense, at least not to us. That morning we were still in the room when it was 6:30am, so we ruled out that the note was written in the morning. We could not imagine that housekeeping wouldnt get to our room until after 6:30pm. Who knows but it just didnt feel right to either one of us. Our real concern was that someone, other than housekeeping, had access to our room. Obviously someone had written that note and we didnt know who it was. As we talked I noticed my husband seemed to get a little more concerned. It wasnt like we were scared but just bothered that someone had the ability to come into our room, and how did they really get into the room? Did they have a keycard or was the door left ajar??
My Dh, who travels quite a bit, decided he was going to call the hotel security and try to get some answers. At the least, we wanted to get our room cards re-keyed. He called down to the front desk, briefly explained the situation and asked to speak with security. He was informed that someone would call him back very quickly. Well after waiting approximately thirty minutes and receiving no call, DH dialed the front desk a second time. Once again he explained the situation and requested to speak to someone with hotel security. He finally got to talk to a gentleman who said he would be up to our room to take a report. As we waited, DH turned on the TV and I quickly typed up some notes for this trip report and downloaded all my pictures. By then our little one was fast asleep, exhausted from one very exciting and exhilarating day.
It was almost midnight by the time security arrived at our door. After hearing the situation and reviewing the note, the security supervisor assumed it must have been written by housekeeping. We stressed why that just didnt make sense to us, and after thinking about it, he wasnt so sure either. He inquired as to whether anything was missing from the room and we assured him that nothing was missing. At this point, all we were asking was for our keycards to be changed. Obviously, someone had written the note and had been in our room and none of us believed it was housekeeping. The security supervisor told us he wasnt sure the cards could be changed and that he would have to check with the front desk. This is when my DH kindly suggested they either change the cards or find us a new room. He wasnt rude about it or anything; he just explained we would feel more comfortable once that had happened. The security supervisor said he understood and that he would go down to the front desk immediately to see what he could do. He also explained that he would be questioning housekeeping on whether any of them had written the note that was left in our room. Before he left he asked us whether we needed anything else. We stated no, just the new key cards. He offered to get us something to drink or eat from room service. At first we were just gonna get some sodas but after a little prodding we decided, yeah, we are kind of hungry. So there it was late into the night and here comes room service a knocking at our door. A chicken sandwich for DH and a delicious Caesar salad for me. Just about the time we finished eating, the security guy returned with new key cards for our room. We thanked him and finally crawled into bed. What a night!!
