My Mommy's Gonna Write a Trippie Report all about Me & Mickey Mouse! (Pictures & all)

Your title sucked me in! And your trippie is beautiful!

I just got back yesterday and I miss it so much already!

Ummm we're still waiting for part 2 :rolleyes1 , and I do hope you post more pictures :teeth:

- OMG you are leaving in 16 days??? I am soo jealous! I wanna go back right now! Thanks for reading...I hope to see your TR when you are back. Remember take LOTS of pictures[/QUOTE]

Yes! Well, now in 15 days! WOO HOO! I can't WAIT! I am taking my kids to the World for the first time and my mom, too. We went on our honeymoon 9 years ago, and I have been dying to go back. Disneyland is great, but never the same.

I am eagerly waiting for the next post of your trip report... hehehehe popcorn::

Downtown Disney & the FEELING of MAGIC

Not long after boarding the bus, we departed at Downtown Disney. Our dining reservations were for 7:00 pm and we were just a tad early. We parked our little one’s stroller and got in line within the restaurant. A note to any of you who may be dining at the Rain Forest Café for the first time – you MUST first check in with the people standing in the bright purple elephant (I think it was an elephant) outside the restaurant. Haha. Somehow I completely missed that step and the big purple elephant??? The LM (aka, Line Manager) kindly showed me the error of my ways and soon after I was back in line with the proper ticket. Good thing we munched on some of the wonderful goodies back at the hotel, as I’ll tell you this was one of the longest lines we waited in for our entire trip. We met a nice couple and their young son who were in front of us and chatted away until our tables were ready. Their little guy was so cute. His Dad had just bought him a bunch of toys and he was sharing them excitedly with our DD.

The atmosphere was really nice, the food was pretty good and the little one was excited! She loved it when all the rain, thunder and lighting struck and all the animals started moving and making noise.

After dinner we had to go shopping of course. I told DH that I had read all about the World of Disney Store and explained that we just had to go there first. Boy, oh boy, is that place huge or what??? On our way into the store we felt something wet, we looked at one another and then just started laughing. We had noticed that gigantic spittin’ Stitch on top the store. He was sporting a Santa hat and was tangled up in Christmas lights, however, he still managed to spit water on us unsuspecting guests, err rather victims I should say. Our little one thought it was the funniest thing and to this day she will tell anyone and everyone about that spittin’ Stitch. More humorous is the fact that she has yet to see the movie, “Lilo & Stitch”.

DayOne077web.jpg

The "spittin'" Stitch...can you see the water spray?

Anyway, as I walked into the store my breath was taken away. The detail that goes into everything Disney does is amazing to me. We spent what seemed like forever in there and yet still probably didn’t see everything. I wasn’t sure we would be making it back to Downtown Disney so I wanted to take it all in. I took plenty of pictures and will share a select few with you. For those of you interested in some of the Christmas related items, I have added a few shots of those as well.

Winnie the Pooh...just hanging around.

DayOne216web.jpg

Aww...Eeyores everywhere!

Initially our little one was in overload and didn’t know what to look at first. She loved the hats and quickly tried a few on. My thought was to try to keep her in her stroller as long as possible, however, that thought was quickly vetoed by our little two year old. She wanted out and she wanted to explore. She wanted to look and she wanted to touch. So DH and I freed her and watched her look in amazement at all things Disney!

Maybe she will be a pin collector/trader one day.

On the way out of the store with Dad...and back in the stroller BRIEFLY.

NOTE - This part has been broken into two segments as I initially tried to post way too many pictures. I had wondered if there was a limit. Oops!

Continued...

After picking up a few things, we decided it was time to see Santa Claus! As I waited to take pictures, DH got in line with the little one. She had told us she wanted to see Santa and that she was going to sit on his lap. I had my doubts though as she had yet to sit on any Santa’s lap. We attempted the mall Santa’s back home but she would have none of it, only waving from a safe and comfortable distance. Candy, treats and other bribes never worked so I waited and wondered. When her turn came she looked a bit terrified but DH sat her on the arm of Santa’s thrown and this is how she looked. Even though she appeared to not enjoy it, I can assure you that were not the case. As she ran out to me, she was grinning and exclaimed she loved Santa Claus. Aww. My sweet little girl.

Sitting on the thrown with Santa. Notice how she is holding both Daddy's hand and Santa's hand!

Oh my goodness, I just love this picture!!

It was there at Santa’s Workshop that I received our first Disney Photopass card. As I had read on our beloved DISboards, I quickly snapped a picture of the back of it. As I did so, I heard a man state, “oh, you know what you are doing”! I turned around to see a Disney cast member. He was smiling and said that I was so smart. I chuckeled ‘cuz I knew if it weren’t for the DIS I probably never would have thought of it! So thanks all you guys on the DIS!!! I was now assured that even if I lost the Photopass card, Disney would still be able to find our photos since I had preserved the card number on our digital camera. I tried to give my DH that, “see why I read the DISboards” story and he just grinned and gave me a hug.

After all that we just walked around, enjoying the sights and stores. Our DD loved seeing all the Disney character statutes. She would run right up to them and hug them and climb all over them, She would blurt out their names in such a cute way, one could not help but notice all her excitement. I wondered if she would react the same way once she meant the real characters. Tomorrow would tell and I could only hope!!

DayOne204web.jpg

This picture is a little out of focus but I love how you can see all her excitement.

DayOne205web.jpg

She really loves Donald Duck.

DayOne207web.jpg

She is getting used to smiling for the camera. Good girl! Hahaha.

DayOne219web.jpg

Aww, a doggie! Big dogs don't scare her. We have a 100 pound lab here at home.

DayOne223web.jpg

Notice the little dog house (purse?) she found?

DayOne197web.jpg

Of course we can't forget good ole Micky and Minnie!

DayOne233web.jpg

Look how she is holding onto the ears! Haha.

Well, as the night grew on, we headed back to the bus, knowing that tomorrow would be a day to remember. For it was off to the Magic Kingdom and the most happiest place in earth!

What a thoughtful and heart tugging surprise! I bet both of "daddy's girls" were smiling from ear to ear! Your daughter is just a natural in front of the camera. I bet you guys give her little choice in the matter! ;) My boys are trained...mom pulls out the camera it's time to stop, look and smile! :lmao:

GREAT pictures! I cannot wait to hear some more about your Christmas visit to WDW. Will we get to see any pictures of mom and dad along the way?

Thanks again for sharing with us!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Two thumbs way up!!

Hi Jaycns! Thanks for reading along! Yes it really was a thoughtful surprise! I don't think any of us really stopped smiling the entire trip! When it came to pictures on this trip, our daughter was much better than I thought she would be. At home it seems like I have to take a zillion and one pictures before I get a really good one. LOL. I think she is getting used to it. Good thing since she is my favorite subject to photograph!!

Good thing you have your boys trained too because they are so adorable. I just loved reading your TR and looking at all your pictures!

Take care and thanks again!

Wow what great photos, can't wait to see her face when she meets the real Donald Duck! As I was looking at all the photos I did think where were you? and then right at the bottom you sneak in. :cool1: Can't wait for the rest.

Another great installment!! Your daughter is too cute with the characters, can't wait to see how she is with the real ones!!

what a great start to your report - you daughter is a doll, I hope she reacts to the real characters as well as she reacted to the statues!

thanks for sharing.

WOW, WOW, WOW - your pics are fabulous!! I may have asked before, but what camera/lens were you using? Great work :thumbsup2

Part of the reason I love readin other people's TR's is that so often I miss the little things on my trips to WDW. I don't knwo that I've ever taken the time to really look up in the World of Disney and look how much I've missed!

Your DD just gets cuter in every shot :goodvibes Looking forward to more popcorn::

Wow! I love the way you tell your story and the pictures are adorable! I'm anxious for the next post!

kathymc - Aww, thank you so much...wait to you hear how she reacted to the real characters. I hope to post that in day or two. Thanks again!

Linzybrooke - Laughng, she definitely has a million expressions and I must say that I love them all! Thanks for reading along.

PrincessV - Oh my goodness you must go back to WDW now and look up in the World of Disney store. Hehehehe....hey any excuse to go back, right??? So glad you like the pictures, I am working on creating a photo keepsake book for DD with a million pics in it! I used my Nikon D70 with the kit lens.

tinkgurl - Aww that is so sweet, thank you. I was a little intimidated to write a TR after reading some others but it is so exciting to know that people are enjoying it! Thank you.

I actually have a question..How did you prepare to write your TR? Did you write down everything you did day by day as you were at WDW? Just wanted some tips because after reading yours and other TRs, I'm thinking about trying my first one when we go in July!

Hi tinkgurl - I just wrote a few things down during the day but then at night when we were back in the hotel I would type up all the things I wanted to remember. We took our laptop computer so that I could download my pictures each night so it was easy to type it all out. Hope you have a great trip when you go!!!
