More info? Where are you staying? Is it just you and your mom? Do you want characters or no characters?

I would recommend Boma, Kona Cafe, and Cape May Cafe (Character Meal, with Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale) for Breakfast. Boma and CMC offer very good buffets with a good variety. Tonga Toast is all I have to say about the Kona Cafe.

If you click on my March/April food report in my signature you will see a ton of TS breakfast pictures and reviews. Boma was out of this world, we had to go back a second time!

Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge.

Their b'fast skillet -- all you can eat eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes tossed in a big heavy frying pan -- is terrific. They have lots of other breakfast-y things, too. And the wait staff puts on a hilarious act. :rotfl2: (Though some find them over-the-top...) :rolleyes1

I love Crystal Palace! They have Pooh and friends there so not good if you want to avoid the characters..

Tonga toast at kona was okay, but I was completely underwhelmed with the rest of the menu and decor of the place. Looked like a hotel restaurant, not Disney...

We also love Crystal Palace for breakfast and always have to make at least 1 ADR during our stay. The food is great, good variety, you get to see characters and the restaurant is beautiful. It's an overall wonderful experience :)

We always eat at the Crystal Palace for breakfast. They have a nice buffet with puffed french toast which is something I always look forward to. The atmosphere is fun - this past year Tigger led a parade of kids around the restaurant. The character interaction is also pretty good. Lastly, we usually get the earliest breakfast ADR possible (around 8:00 am) so we get to go in MK before the park opens - it's really neat to walk down a nearly empty main street & it also allows for good pics in front of the castle.

I'm like your mom, I love breakfast, but no one else in my house is interested.
Many here RAVE about the breakfast buffet at Boma. There are no characters, but it gets very high marks. My family likes the dinner buffet there, but because they won't eat before Noon or 1pm, breakfast is out of the question.:earsboy:

My mom LOVES breakfast, too, and we always make sure to take her to Crystal Palace when we're there.

Kona is my suggestion, besides Tongs toast, you can start your day with a cup of real coffee.

Spoodles at BW has a good breakfast menu but we like buffets best. Our favorite is Chef Mickey's. Amazing variety and terrific service.

Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort and Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge are at the top of my list for breakfast. Each have great choices.

we are eating at crystal palace for dinner. Do you think breakfast is better then dinner? It is myself, my mom and my teen son. Characters are not important. I want to give her a good breakfast in a beautiful place. When she used to take us we only stayed at the Poly- but it is a value resort this time. I just want to give her a great awe when she is there. I have heard about the tonga toast at Kona but that restaurant doesn't have the "feeling" I am looking for. I am just so excited to have her with us!!:yay:

I think the Grand Floridian Cafe has good food and a beautiful setting. I haven't eaten there in a couple of years, but I liked it then.

We liked Boma very much for breakfast (who woulda thunk the Boma mustard "worked" with breakfast). A really good buffet overall.

Last time we were at WDW, we ate breakfast at Boatwright's (in POR). The sweet potato pancakes were "hands down" the best single thing we ate for breakfast during the entire vacation. We enjoyed it so much that we actually booked 2 days at POR on our next vacation to "bookend" our stay at VWL and make it convenient to eat there again.

Offsite, we usually just grab breakfast at the Perkins near DTD. They are cheap (like Dennys) & have great potato pancakes (uh, you may notice this is a theme with me......) ;)
