My mom just got to go see her home. (she was evacuated) and she lost the roof!! :( She said the inside is destroyed because of the rain and wind. the streets are destroyed they only go one way and part of the street is in the intracoastal.
Please any prayers or pixie dust would be appreciated.

 Sending her lots of pixie dust. I hope she gets everything fixed up soon. Thankfully she is okay.

Sending prayers from here as well. I hope that the insurance companies work fast and take care of the Floridians.

:wizard: Glad she is ok, and hope they can fix the roof quickly and repair the neighborhood streets.

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: I'm so sorry! Sending lots of pixie dust she gets her house repaired quickly. Thank goodness she's okay.

I am so sorry to hear that... we are still waiting to hear how my Mom, sisiter & cousins homes have done. We can't get thru to them. Tell your Mom to start calling for the repairs before the insurance looks... I waited & now I cannot get anyone here to do the work. I am on a waiting list that is aleast 1 month behind schedule. I am in need of a new roof as well from Charley. I still haven't had anyone get to my house to start giving me estimates, just my insurance adjuster. Now I have to accept what they are giving me for the repair & if it runs more, I have to pay the difference & submit it to the "supplemental hotline" for them to reimburse me  which would be great if I could ever find out how much it will run:scared:

That's awful!! I can't imagine what it must be like to return to your home to find that everything is destroyed by wind and rain.
Does your mom live there year round or just winter? What town is it? I ask because we're still trying to get an idea how my aunt's mobil home did during the storm. This was her winter "get-a-way"
and the last place she lived with my uncle before he died. She's in Port St. Lucie and so far we're not hearing positive things.....

We were lucky. Just spoke with one of our neighbors who is a full-timer. He said all the buildings (7) lost those boards under the eaves (more aluminum to recycle) but every roof survived. One first floor unit (not ours) took on a little water. He told us not to go down because there is no electricity, running water, etc. We are going to tentatively plan to leave this Friday if the lights, phone, and water are back in service.

Sorry to hear about the damage...prayers to your mom that things can be fixed and or replaced quickly...

Thanks for all the well wishes! :)

A Mickeyfan- I will tell her!! Im so sorry to hear of your home!! Where are you staying?? Hugs to you!!!!!

I dont want to scare you but I would say there is damage.

We just drove around and I cn not believe how lucky we are!!!!!!!!!! So much damage!!!!! Our neighborhood did good compared to most. :(

Just went to publix and there is no power but they could sell what they have off of a generator, nothing much left its strange!!!!!!! But one good thing they had alcohol!!!!!
;)

:( How sad and stressful.

I'm thankful your mom evacuated and she's safe! Can you imagine if she had been one of the stubborn ones who refused to leave?

She's in good hands. They have been on TV all day saying that Insurance, FEMA and the Red Cross will take care of us! Especially those with as much damage as your mom!

Will you be having some company for a couple months??

Prayers and Pixie Dust!

Holly

My thoughts and prayers are with your mom. I am glad she, herself, was safe though. Roofs can be fixed much easier than people. Hugs!!

My parents have a house in Jensen Beach, right by the beach, they left a message yesterday that they have minimal damage, no phones or electricity.

I've never been through anything like that so I can only imagine how horrible it is. :( I'm thankful that your family is all safe. I hope she has good insurance and that the recovery is as painless as possible.
