My mom just put her Shayna to sleep today.

Poor mom!

Her cat, Shayna, was having liver problems, and she was finally put to sleep today. She lost almost 50% of her body weight and just wasn't eating.

My brother tells me it hasn't hit my mom yet. But there's still Shayna's sister Maidel to keep my mom company. I wonder how Maidel will react (the cats hadn't been getting along for the past couple of months).

(FYI, Shayna and Maidel are Yiddish for "Pretty" and "Girl". They were littermates adopted together.)

to your mom. That's so hard. How old was Shayna? I have littermates too, male and female. They like to pick at each other but are actually pretty close. I know whoever is first to go, the other one will have a hard time of it.
