My Mom is home!!!

Three weeks to the day after she was rushed to the hospital due to complications from a bleeding ulcer ,my 83 year old Mom is finally home! She spent time in the ICU and had to have emergency surgery. Then she was in the hospital for a while and then in rehab to get her strength back. But now she is back with my 88 year old Dad and we are all so happy! The physical therapists who worked with her were awesome and helped her get strong again.

Thanks to everyone who was so kind to send good wishes and prayers when I first posted about Mom - your words meant so much!

So what exactly did they do for your mom's ulcer? Surgery? Is she on short or long term meds? Do they have any idea what caused it? I know - I'm asking lots of questions because I'm having problems with stomach pain right now (scheduled for an endoscopy in Dec.) and I'm wondering if it could be an ulcer.. I had one years and years ago - when I was married to my first husband (I swear it was his behavior that caused it - LOL), but I can't really remember if it was the same kind of pain that I'm having now..

Anyhow - I know they treat ulcers much differently now than they did in the 60's, so that's another reason for all of the questions..
